Even you wind the crown the hands not moving or not responding? If this the case then the trouble is in the clutch wheel .Maybe the gear is already breaks thats why it will not respond.
Feel free to ask whatever the results.

Hope its help:

My seiko 5 automatic runs to quick

Balance spring in your watch is sticking together and causing the watch to run fast. It can happen when watch gets magnetized or there is some oily residue left on balance spring. To fix this you will have to show your watch to the watchmaker, because this is very specialized job to do and the balance spring is so delicate part, it can be damaged by simple touch.

As you have had the watch for "a number of years", have you had it serviced? Sieko recommend servicing every 2-3 years.

If could be that cleaning and adjustment are needed to put it back in good order.

(I don't know the details of your watch but on the assumption that it has a balance wheel, since this is a rapidly moving part, it can suffer wear and need periodic adjustment.)

Go to thier web site http://www.seikowatches.com/ to find the location of your nearest service center.

I have automatic seiko 5 watch and is gaining time ; so how do I adjust so that it becomes accurate

If you want to do it yourself, be ready that your watch can be damaged and will need serious repairs. Here is how to do that: Open the watch case back. Lay it face down on levelled surface. On the balance **** you will see the index with - and + markings. Using fine pointed tweezers to move the index towards - sign. Do it very carefully, almost invisible to the naked eye. Just very slight touch of index can change timekeeping significantly. If you are not sure what you are doing - visit your nearest watch repair shop and ask to adjust your watch.
