Same issue with lost sound device when "upgraded" to Vista Home Premium, Drivers recommended by E-Machines, Driver Doctors, etc. all rejected by Vista as not compatible. Microsoft's download upgrades VistaSP1 did not help. Neither did their recommended upgrade SoundMax driver (which is what I have in the M5305) was also rejected by Vista. Has anyone found a solution? Mike

No audio output device installed

Where are you checking? In the Device Manager?
Go there and disable the sound device and then reboot and enable it again. (If you get there and see a device disabled, just enable it and check again to see if you have sound).
Try this and report back if you still have problems.
Please be aware that Microsoft has an excellent online troubleshooter for Vista available here

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread. If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take a moment to kindly rate this post....thanks!

"No Audio Output Device is installed"

I checked their website. Did you download the sound driver RAM2080 Win Vista x 86 15.02.2007 version 6.10.5337.0?

If so and it did not work it looks like you'll have to update the BIOS (BIOS update RAM2080 _only_ for MS Windows Vista 14.05.2007 version F0A. However BE VERY CAREFUL and follow the instructions EXACTLY, otherwise you may make the computer unbootable.

No Audio Output!!??

You need to download and install the Vista compatible driver from the manufacturer of your sound card.
It is possible that if your card is old, it cannot be supported by Vista, and you will need to replace it.
