I can not get mail on i pad or on phone it says cannot connect with server

what server Mail server You need to call your mail Providor for that specific help!

Might need a little more information because phones tend to have different operating systems so they have different setups as well.

If you can't access a server, you might want to delete the email from the phone and start all over.

Web based mail clients tend to have an automating server configuration when setting up whether it be iphone, Blackberry or Android these days.

If it doesn't allow for automatic setup, you might try manually using either imap or pop3 server settings for yahoo emails.

Set up Yahoo Mail on mobile device with POP or IMAP

go into accounts - find properties left click servers and make sure that all the boxes are marked correctly. There will be incoming server,outgoing mail, incoming mail server, user name,password

Have your server walk you through setting (i.e.; Comcast)

JUST HARD RESET THE DEVICE AND ENJOY

It sounds like you might need to go in and re-set the IP address for you e-mail. and/or reset your e-mail account.

I have research and found the following solutions,I haven't tried them for my self yet but they seem to be solving the problem.

Go to menu/settings/application settings/message/email/email account/create account and follow the instructions below

Account Name: (your Gmail id) SMPT Server: smpt.gmail.com SMPT Port: 465 Secure Connection: SSL Incoming Server Type: POP3 POP3 server: pop.gmail.com POP3 port: 995 APOP login: no Secure connection: SSL Download limit: 500 IMAP4 incoming email: disable Retrieving option: subject only Keep on server: yes My email address: (your Gmail id) Username: (your mail id) Password: ********* POP before SMPT: no SMPT path: yes Same as POP3/IMAP4: yes User name: disabled Password: disable
If you want to set up your other accounts such as yahoo and hotmail, then just change the things given below, and leave the rest as it is.

Server settings for hotmail: Server (SMPT) - smpt.live.com SMPT Port - 25 Secure connection: SSL POP3 server: - pop3.live.com POP3 Port - 995


Server settings for yahoo: Server (SMPT) - smpt.mail.yahoo.com SMPT Port - 25 Secure Connection - SSL POP3 server - pop.mail.yahoo.com POP3 port - 110

Account name-- yahoo mail !

SMPT server-- smpt.mobile.mail.yahoo.com

SMPT port- 25
secure connection - off
incoming server -- imap.mail.yahoo.com

IMAP4 incoming email-- New
Retrieving option-- Subject only
keep on server-- check

same as POP3.IMAP4-- check



and click on save done

Try this

Go settings, mail contacts calenders and then select the account you want to configure at the top. Then scroll down to outgoing mail server and tap SMTP. Tap primary server turn on and enter hostname = smtp.live.com, user name is your email address, password as per your account, ssl to ON, port 587.
