Intex pool chlorinator trouble with unlocking mechanism

My chlorinator is brand new. When I plug it in and turn it on, I get the 88 code. I hold the left button down, and get the first beep, then hold the right button down, and it beeps multiple times, and stays at 88 does not go to a flashing 00. It took about 15-20 minutes of trying this sequence before we got the flashing 00. I think the lock mechanism is broken, as I can't get it locked either after I set the hours, so I finally let the system lock itself after 1 minute. It started the chlorination procedure, green light came one. We unplugged the unit and tried it again, and still after multple times of holding for one beep, the second hold on the right button would give multiple beeps and we eventually got it to go to change from 88 to 00. I really think the unlocking mechanism is broken. I tried calling the company, but stayed online for too long, and eventually hung up.

Do not get frustrated with the long phone call.
Get your receipt ready and you could have a new filter in a week
They are good about these things
Mine arrived in 5 days no questions asked. I didnt even have to send the old one back
Keep as many parts from the old as you can especially the electro cell that is 200 bucks by itself

Usually E0 39 or E 39 or 3 039 is mismatch between your new board and current boards. Do a reconfig: install new board. Plug in. If you get the 39 code push one of the burner on/off buttons to make the beeping stop and blank display. Then, push and hold right front and right rear UP buttons simultaneously until 88 appears in display. Then press and hold left rear and left front UP buttons until beep sounds and configuration starts. A few seconds later it should clear and be all set! Hope this helps.

24' X 52" intex pool, I am having trouble with my cholinator not producing chlorine in the water. there are no signals or lights flashing. but when I test for the free chlorine on the strips is do

If you can remove your generator try and bench test it. Fill with pool water and do a chlorine test. Run the generator for a few minutes, unit should produce bubbles when the cells are turned on. Run another chlorine test and make sure it is higher than original test. You should also test your combined chlorines to make sure you don't have excess chloramines in the water. Also check for any buildup on the generator plates which should be acid washed, and verify salt concentration.

Ok i have the intex 1600gph sand filter saltwater combo system and my pool hold 8000 gallons i can run the chlorinator 24 hrs a day and it will not get the chlorine and free chlorine above 1 the ph is 7.5...

Yes, what is your stabilizer level? It should be between 30 and 50 ppm. If the stabilizer is too low then the sun will cause the chlorine to dissipate faster than the chlorinator can produce it. Some salt chlorinator manufactures recommend 80ppm but that reduces the chlorine efffect. If you can't get the chlorinator working then using a floating tablet chlorinator is a good option to keep the pool open. I hope this helps.

Code 88 stays on it hasnt gone off since i plugged it in

This is normal... From here, you must set your cycle time.....Follow these steps... Note: on the 8110 model, you must start your pump and set your pump timer first, then wait 15 minutes to sync your chlorinator to between the pump hrs. If the pump turns off before the chlorinator, you will get a low flow alarm...
If you can't read this, it's from your manual.. If you need help setting the timer, post asking for help setting timer... Good luck...

I have a Intex saltwater pool, 14x48. It has brown spots on the bottom and in the creases of the liner. Could this be caused by copper? I was told to use vitamin C tablets and metal free solution to remove...

I had the same problem. My chlorinator was malfunctioning. I put a floating chlorine tablet dispenser in it and it cleared all of the brown spots. (Thank God.. brand new pool) Intex shipped me a new chlorinator after I emailed them a copy of my receipt.

My led lights up 88 but when i push the buttons to unlock pad and set timer it wont do anything

are you holding down the pads long enough to hear a beep? hold down arrow till it beeps then hold up arrow till it beeps then set your hours with the up arrow
now let it lock itself and turn on.
This will take 2-10 minutes keep looking for the second green indicator this lets you know it is gen erating chlorine
