Question about Cuisinart DCC-1200 Coffee Maker

1 Answer

No Brew...? Sounds like Ive found the right place to post the samve problem I'm having with this coffee maker. When I click the little brew switch nothing happens. No lights no hot coffee. I did a full clean cycle last time with cleaner thinking it was a sensor inside that was dirty.....It worked again...for a while... then again failed to start. Not very happy. Especially since the coffee maker is not priced on the low end. One thing that is important to this consumer is that products work. I could have bought a mid range coffee maker Thats $40.00 and it would still be working. My father has the same model (DCC 1200) and exactly the same problem occured. Cusinart...your failure rate is losing customers! I'm buying your competitors Oster model 12 cup coffee maker. The reviews look a little better. Also I wonder about all the other Cusinart products we went with...Your blender, Grinder...ect. I,m gonna have a garage sale.

Hello,
I recently had this similar problem. If you still have you machine try the following.
Your described problem may be one of two problems. Let's start with the easier solution first. In the DCC 1200 there is a filter "stick or column" in the left rear. Pull it out and remove the clogged carbon filter(s) that are in there. Shine a light into the receptacle and remove the debris in the bottom. It is likely that this is causing the problem with you machine needing to be started on multiple times. See if this solution works. If it does, you might run 8 cups of water and 4 cups of vinegar through to help decalcify the units plumbing. Do this once or twice and then rinse with at least one pot run-through of clean water. If this works then you are good to go.
Next, if this does not solve your problem we can do the following: unplug the unit and lay it on its back. You will need a #10 torx driver (hardware store if you don't have one) to remove the bottom cover plate. There are 4 torx screws holding it on. When removed, you will find 2 orange hoses. Carefully attempt to remove the left hose without splitting. I used a eyeglas screwdriver to loosen it up. If it splits, just cut off the split and stretch it to reconnect when time comes. As you look into the hose you will find a little black valve inside as well a some gunk. Clean it all out with a fine wire as best you can. Rinse well. Attempt to reconnect the hose back onto the pipe. Slip the pipe clamp back into place. Replace the cover and screws and you should be good to go again. This is not as daunting as it may seem. You can do it. :o) Good luck! If this answer helps, please leave positive feedback for me. Much appreciated. Regards, NormanZ

Red light won't stop flashing. Parts are in place

Be sure all coffee grounds are cleaned from beneath the water tray and the grounds tray and the coffee brew group. We had the same problem but finally redid everything, including cleaning the coffee brew group under hot water, drying and replacing carefully until it clicked in place. The moving parts of brew group have to be in exactly the right place. Good luck!

The pic is clogged with coffee or the air bladder is bad. Use the tool on the underside of the tray to clean out pic. If that doesn't work, the bladder will be bad.

How do I make coffee with a Grindmaster Pourover Coffee maker?

COFFEE PREPARATION PROCEDURES
1) Place filter into brew basket.
2) Put the proper amount of coffee into the filter.
3) Slide the brew basket into holder.
4) Place empty decanter on warmer located directly under the brew basket and turn corresponding warmer switch ON.
5) Pour decanter of fresh water through pour-in opening at top of brewer.
6) Hot water will be delivered through the sprayhead. This distributes the hot water evenly over the coffee bed within the brew basket. The coffee will drain from brew basket into the container below.
7) Red light indicates warmer is ON.
8) Before brewing next pot, remove brew basket from brew rails and dump filter into waste basket.

Please rate this a fixya

Ground coffee Saeco Royal

Hi
thedalys. you probably have a bad micro switch on your doser. and that just needs to be replaced. If the grinder does not sense that the doser box is full it will keep grinding until it times out.

Guest. Try pulling the dosage lever back one click from the full and push your grind lever to the largest # and see if that helps. Sounds like you grinds are too fine and its clogging the the grind box. If the dosage level is too full it will cycle and dump the brew unit or break the brew drive gears, then you will hear a clicking noise when it trys to make a coffee.
