Question about Lexmark Color JetPrinter Z52 InkJet

1 Answer

Lexmark Z52 printer does not show ink level

If you check this link http://www.lexmark.com/publications/pdfs/z52/enUserNT.pdf on p. 49 and http://www.lexmark.com/publications/pdfs/z52/enUser95.pdf on p.34 it says that an "Ink Low Message" supposedly tells you if a cartridge is running out of ink. But where is this message?? Where does it show??? It doesn't say. On p.39 under "troubleshooting" it says that ink level indicators may be shaded. But it's not clear what you have to do to fix that. When I click Preferences and then Cartridge Maintenance I see them nice and clear, but they do not show ink level. They always seem to be full.

The pdfs you quote apply to Windows 95 and Windows NT. What Windows version are you running? You need the appropriate pdf for that version.

I have checked the Lexmark site for this printer and they don't do a sheet for XP pro. The last one they did was for Windows ME. That is bad news because it means that they are not supporting this printer in Windows XP. This, I am afraid, is not unusual. As the operating systems move on the manufacturers reckon that it is better for them to sell more printers than to support old (and perfectly good) ones. Shame on them, but there is little we can do about it. Don't support Lexmark in future is my advice - and write and tell them why.

Replaced ink cartridges in Lexmark Z52. Noe ink

There should be a clean program that you can run.
First restart windows, then run the clean program,
see if this helps, try and print. If you need more help
re-post what you did and still have a problem.
