Mountfield SP534 Lawnmower - Blade Spindel Bent?

I hit a small tree stump whilst mowing and suspect I have bent the main blade spindel as it feels as if the blade is catching on something when you turn it around by hand. It will turn part way round then seize as if it's rubbing/jamming. With a little presssure, it will free and then turn half way round again. The balde isn't catching so I wonder if I have bent the main spindel slightly. Just the owners manual give you no instructions to fully dismantle the mower and I'm struggling to identify the problem. Probably not worth the money to take it to a repair shop. Any ideas? Any suggestions would be most welcome.

That spindle shaft looks bent to me. Yes sir you've already proved that it is. Now your job is to take it apart and pound it straight (ha) or replace it (better).

5-h-push mower has bad veberation blade is on tight

bent blade, bent crankshaft, blade not balanced are all possible causes for vibration.
If you sharpened the blade recently try rebalancing it.
You could have struck something while mowing and bent the blade or bent the crankshaft on the engine.
If blade is bent replace it. If out of balance, rebalance it.
If crankshaft is bent replace it, have it straightened or replace the engine.
To replace or straighten the crankshaft it will require engine tear down which requires knowledge and tools for small engines.

Hi,
I have had that happen when my wife and kids ran over stuff...
One time it was just the blade that got bent and the other time it was the motor shaft...
Changing the blade is easy...straightening out the motor shaft is near impossible with major repair tools...
Check and see what is bent, but my thought is that something got bent which throughs everything out of balance and then the motor will not run...

the blade is bent, replace it or you will ruin the engine,a new blade is much cheaper than a re-built engine and bearings, you bent it soooooo bad you can no longer even balance it, and if you continue it will destroy the engine if you have not done so already, this is the vibration you feel NOW

Cub cadet rzt 50, hit stump, blades wont engage but not bent

The blades on this cub cadet are activated with air pressure. Chances are that when you hit that stump, you either blew a fuse or the control module that allows the blades to spin. Begin by checking the fuses. J.

After hitting a low bearing tree stump with my troy bilt 6.75 push mower it bent the blade and now refuses to start. How do i fix it?

You will need to replace the key under the flywheel because it probably sheared when you hit the stump and you will need to replace the bent blade before starting the mower again.
I hope this helped

I hit a rock with my push lawnmower. The

Oooh boy, I know you bent the shaft, but why it is blowing oil out the carb, I don't know if I would even bother with the blade, you could go buy the same mower, then you would have some parts. Unless you just bumped it hard enough to throw oil around in there, it might settle down, but it is a long shot. I hit a stump once and bent the crank, it was lights out for that mower. Hope this helps.

My Cub Cadet i1042 tractor shuts off when the blade is engaged. This happened after I ran over a ***** and/or stump. Every time I try to engage the blade the engine shuts off.

Check for bent blade against deck housing.Possible you bent something on mowing deck, check all spindles and pulleys. You could have something hung on blade and making contact with deck. Rarely will the motor be hurt from hitting object on rider.

New mower hit small stump, cuts too low now/ can't adjust height

It is a bend blade. I feel your pain...I had a riding lawnmover that took a good two-hours to take apart and chage blades and 3/4 of an acre with old ornamental garden root balls popping up all the time. That was a long summer...

You may want to get the blade ahead of time so whomever can help you look under the mower can change the blade once they confirm it is bent. Even if they can fix the old one it is a blade you will need sooner or later and they are not very expensive.
