The tried and true method is good ole' elbow grease. If your water has chemistry issues it's even more necessary to clean it more often. The water supplier can help you with your answers on water quality issues. If your on a private well you will probably need to install a treatment system. Get several opinions if you use salesmen. Personally I don't have much faith in there knowledge. Call your county health department to see if they have a program to test your water. Most states provide 1 free test annually. Good Luck!

Kwc kitchen faucet hose smells when extended

The storage location for the hose is a warm, moist dark place where bacteria loves to grow.

This is a can of worms!! Having bacteria where you are trying to prepare food is just not good.

Bleach is a sure fire way of eliminating bacteria however the Delta manufacture suggests that bleach and bleach based cleansers will damage the finish?

". What cleaning products can cause damage to faucet finishes? Although your faucet's finish is extremely durable, it can be damaged or scratched by harsh cleaners or abrasives. Here's what to avoid: • Industrial cleaners • Abrasive cleaners • Toilet bowl cleaners • Bleach-based cleaners • Polish • Ammonia solutions • Heavy-duty scrub sponges • Products that state on the label that they remove tarnish and rust • Products containing hydrofluoric, hydrochloric and/or phosphoric acids and caustic agents"

26045866-bpnocvuw4zrtvzqxwzmzw5x0-1-2.jpg The hoses loop down into the storage area under the sink.

This is a dilemma and I would caution you that the surface finish could be damaged. Make up a weak water beach solution. No not use any more bleach then necessary. You will have to pull the hose all he way out and wipe. Avoid having the water contact any of the external cosmetic surfaces of the fixture, And return to home position and go under sink and the hose under the sink and wipe. Make sure that the hose is not interfering with items stored under sink, Inspect items stored under the sink a likely source for the bacteria especially if they have been stored wet. Also inspect for any water leakage on to items stored.

Organic materials that coat the hose will give the bacteria something to live on.

Bleach kills on contact so allowing a little time for the water bleach solution to soak in before wiping will help. You may need to get creative in cleaning the hose under the sink. I would fill a container with the cleaning solution and as you can see from the images hold the container up and soak the hose in the solution.

You may have to repeat this process before completely eliminating the issue the next few weeks.

When using the spray hose faucet in the future ensure that organic materials are not collecting on a drooping hose that contacts food products in the sink..

I hope that this helps you!

Cadet 3 toilet smells like pee - NOT a SEWER smell, a urine smell. It's a brand new toilet, installed by our contractor. There's a brand new extra thick wax ring too. The room smells like urine when nobody...

If your contractor supplied the toilet, then it is his/her problem, not yours. If you supplied the toilet, then: take a mirror and examine under the lip of the bowl. How does the glazing look? Are there areas without glaze? If so, these bare areas are a breeding ground for bad odors. You can try a thorough cleaning both inside the bowl and around the outside of the toilet with an amonia cleaning product. If you use amonia, DO NOT use bleach: the two combined create a deadly gas. Whatever you do, do not hang a bleach based product inside the tank: the bleach will eat away at anything rubber inside the tank. There is a bleach product that hangs inside the tank and disperses the bleach directly into the tube that leads to the toilet bowl. This would be OK.

I just bought a new house and the saniflo toilet is fairly loud. is there something that I can put in it to clean it out.

If the unit is making a loud noise then there could be an obstruction in the blade or impeller, you will have to pry open the lid using a flat head screwdriver and then remove the motor out of the casing, the blade is on top of the motor and the impeller is at the bottom of the motor.

Saniflo recommends using any cleaning products that does not contains bleach or chlorine such as liquid lysol, Mr. clean or simple green. Also Saniflo sells a descaler that is designed to clean the inside of pump casing.

The toilet seat looks terrible on the underside and on the top it has the worn look. The price of over $400.00 to replace it is crazy. Is there a way of painting , cleaning up or should I buy a a new...

You should be able to remove an old worn out, toilet seat and replace. Usually its two Plastic Toilet Seat Bolts and two plastic wing nuts under the bowl. Most of them are hidden in a Plastic Cap where the seat attaches to the Toilet Base. You unsnap the caps to see the bolts. Make sure to hold the Wing Nuts underneath or they might just spin.

If its a matter of cleaning something because of neglect. I have recently started using new products that I purchased from with great success!

I clean the entire bath room with three products and water!toilet-seat-looks-terrible-underside-2a0cfbtak4y3luwyen1qnfe3-5-0.jpg
Dirty to Clean its simple fast and effective.

The products are: my EnviroCloth, Blue Diamond Cleaner and my toilet brush. If you are like me, I never heard of any of this until I saw a demonstration November 2014 by this person who's website I posted above in this response.

Toilet is unstable with respect to the floor. it rocks when you get on and off it.

It needs to be shimed, either floor uneven or casting is not uniform. It is a problum most people don't understand.Toilets when set need to be leveled if not you can break bowl.Go to home depot and in plumbing dept. ask for plastic shims-come in little bag,tap under toilet and then snug down bolts,(don't reef on bolts)when shes tight take flat head screwdriver and hammer and chop off shim flush. You should take dap tub and tile caulk (water soulible) and dap around bottom-keep wiping sponge with clean water around till it looks nice let set up for 12-24 hours, toilet should be rock solid. If by chance its leaking around base you'll have to reset with new wax Richie

What to clean lime, iorn ,calcium from my system with

Is recommended to use any cleaning product that does not contains bleach or chlorine. There are rubber components inside the pump casing which bleach/chlorine shortens out the life expectancy of these components. Liquid lysol, simple green or mr clean are ok to use.

I have two fairly new vortens toilets and cannot clean the seats - no matter what I use, one the seat has a spot - it won't comeoff. Help!

what is material of the seats? maybe this spot is factory embodied blemish? if this is natural material like timber, it maybe natural inclusion into the timber.

without seeing it, it is virtually not possible to provide with "decent" solution, i would suggest use of bleach, pain undiluted on the spot and leave for minute then wash with copious amount of water, do not leave it too long as bleached part maybe damaged, bleach can damage most of the plastics, keep your latex gloves on, protect your eyes and your cloth, they will become white spoted in place where bleach will drop on them.

you can neutralise bleach with bit of vinegar if you spilled it on yourself. prepare about half cup of vinegar in two pints of water (100ml vineagar in 1l of water)

How do we keep the toilet clean. I understand that you are not able to use bleach based products in the toilet - what else can we use?

Most grocery stores sell "pumice stone" this is a solid bar about 1" x 1" x 6" long. It is literally lava rock cut to this dimension. You use this to scrub the stains off the porcelin. Have used one for years, never hurt the toilet.
