Question about Black & Decker BDBS100 9-Inch 3.5-Amp Band Saw
What's the max thickness of wood that can go through this band saw? the height between the platform and the top of the saw
Generally that's the limit. But to feed a piece that thick, you'd have to have a sharp blade, well adjusted guides and a pretty slow feed rate, depending on the species of wood. I'm guessing the saw will bog down and refuse to cut long before you reach that thickness, unless you have the patience of a saint and don't mind standing there feeding the board through a cm at a time.
Well- tuned it will definitely cut better, but these little portable saws are generally underpowered in my experience..and work best for 3/4" or less thick boards.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
