MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet toyour computer and then copy them to your MP3 player by connecting the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer.
For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs tomp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and thencopy them to your MP3 player.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track. Click on this link for instruction on converting musicfiles to mp3 file format :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5798418-creating_transferring_mp3_music_files

Software music download

Ipod is not an MP3 player. It uses a different file format that only Apple products use. If you have ITunes on your computer, you might be able to convert an MP3 to the correct file format and load it on your Nano.

You can get the files from an online music service like iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody, Limewire, Bearshare, etc. Or you can use Windows Media Player 10 or 11 to "Rip" songs from a CD - I would reccommend ripping them in mp3 format.

iPod, iTunes, and Apple are not compatible with Windows Media Files (the downloads from Windows Media Players). What you want to do is try to Google a .wma to .mp3 converter, and download that. It will convert your files to .mp3 format, which can then be placed onto the iPod. I hope this helps,

My Zen Nano cuts out when playing tracks.

Go to the Creative Labs website http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/download.asp?MainCategory=213&nRegionFK=&nCountryFK=&nLanguageFK=&sOSName=Windows+XP®ion=1&Product_Name=ZEN+Nano+Plus&Product_ID=12720&modelnumber=&driverlang=1033&OS=10&drivertype=0&x=28&y=17 Back up your files on mp3 player Try downloading the latest relevant drivers, firmware, and applications. For example there is a firmware update from Aug 06 that has this fix: * Resolves the issue of your player (battery level full) turning off, while playing a 128 kbps DRM-protected WMA file. Download the file double click for installation and then restart your computer. Try it, this may solve the problem. If not again consult the Creative Labs website for troubleshooting. http://us.creative.com/support Slick Rik
