You may want COUNTIF if you're specifying criteria. For instance, if my prices are found in b3 to b7, here's a formula that will find all those that are less than 6 ($6.00):

=COUNTIF(B3:B7, "<6")

If you're using multiple criteria, such as you want to find all the prices that are greater than $5 and less than $8, the following will accomplish it. (The ABS gives you the absolute value of the result, in case the smaller number is first.)

=ABS(SUM(COUNTIF(B3:B7, ">5") - COUNTIF(B3:B7, "<8")))

Use the COUNTIF command. The COUNTIF command can count the criteria for a range of cells. Since you can only use it for one range of cells or criteria, you simply add another criteria to the formula as follows: =COUNTIF(AG1:AG5,"X")+COUNTIF(Sheet2!L1:L6,"X")

lets say you have the column B with the prices. Got to column C right beside the first price cell (I'll take B2 as first cell for example) which is C2 and type
=1.2*B2

Copy this formula in the column C all the way down to the last price Cell. That will give you all the updated prices.

Before you delete the column B where all your old prices are you need to do one more thing. Select the entire C column (new prices) go to edit and click on copy. Before you click anywhere else go back to edit and click on paste special and select value. This will change the formula cell you have created a minute ago to a value cell. Now you can delete the old prices. Good luck :)

Go to the cell you want this total in.
Type this formula:
=SUM(IF(Sheet2!C1:C10="EME",IF(Sheet2!N1:N10=1,1,0)))
make sure you end the formula with CTRL - SHIFT - ENTER which makes it an array formula. If you forget, go back to the cell with this formula and press F2 (to edit the cell) and press CTRL - SHIFT - ENTER to convert it to an array formula (Excel will show a little {...} around the formula).

Setting a Formula


You should use the formula COUNT (Cell1, Cell2), please replace Cell1 and Cell2 for the range of your cells in Excell. You could use too the formula COUNT.IF(Cell1,Cell2,Criterion), Cell1 and Cell2 is the range of cells when can exist an entry.
Example The final formula is like:
COUNT(A1:A5)/COUNT.IF(A1:A5,"=x")*100

Let's start with the 1st equation. I assume you want to be able to recalculate by changing the number of pages.

Put 65 in cell a1.
360 in b1
In C1, put the formula =a1/b1 that's your book thickness
In D1, put .02 for the cover
In E1, put the formula =C1+D1

Now you can change A1, B1,or D1 and the Total thickness gets recalculated automatically. Be careful not to type numbers into C1 or E1, or you lose the formula.

The same for the other equations - a cell for each number ("variable") and another cell for calculations.

Once you've verified the results, then you can get fancy and add titles above each field to make it easy to remember what goes where.

You may need to change the cell format to control the number of decimal places, or thousands commas. Right click on a cell and select format to see the choices you have.

Keep a backup copy of the spreadsheet in case someone (not you, of course) makes a mistake and overwrites the formula cells. You can also look into "protecting" cells to keep them from being changed.

Creating a formula


go to the field with the number of day formula and modify the formula just add to it this *8. The result will be in hrs.
Assuming a holiday uses 8 hrs of pay. It sounds like everyone starts with 25 holiday X 8 hrs or 200 total hours,

Calculated field in Excel pivot


Count will only work with numbers. So select another box where you want your number and use this formula: =count(x:x) This should give the count number then you will need to find the difference. In another box, use =sum(x-x). This should give you your difference.
