You could have a clog in the housing underneath the dispenser where the water flows through a hose into the tub.
Pull the dispenser drawer completely out.
There is a tab that needs to be depressed to release the drawer and remove it.
Check the opening at the bottom of the housing just inside the dispenser housing opening to see if a small sock or garment is clogging this opening.
Reach down into this opening to see if an item is inside the hose.
This is the normal issue that will cause water to leak out of the dispenser housing.
Wash the dispenser drawer thoroughly with warm water. Make sure that you pull off the siphon covers and wash all siphon holes. This process is described in your owner's manual. Replace the dispenser drawer and try the washer again.

SOURCE: When we start our washer water runs out the detergent tray
I had the same problem about a week ago and found a sock had made it into the drainage area (between the drum and the rubber liner inside the door). Just peel back the liner near the inside edge and inspect the area with a flashlight to see if anything is there.
SOURCE: water comes out of my detergant tray on to my floor
If water is not making it into the drum, open the washer door and feel around the bellow (door gasket) for anything blocking
the water inlet port into the washer (It's common for a sock(s) to get wedged up
there and cause a blockage).
Let me know if you need more assistance.
Good luck!
SOURCE: WATER SPILLS OUT OF DETERGENT
Hello, welcome to FixYa.
Based on what you've described and my experience with this problem, I'd suggest the fill tub going from the dispenser to the tub is being obstructed be a garment from a previous wash (i.e. a sock or undergarment) thus re-directing water out the front of the dispenser drawer.
To access this hose/tub is pretty involved, (the top and front must be removed...not as hard as it sounds though) but if you want to give it a try reply with an email address and I'll send you a service manual that explains the teardown procedure and I'll answer any questions along the way...at least you'll have a guide on how to access and remove the item causing the blockage.
Let me know if this is the way you want to proceed and I'll send it to you as soon as I have an email address to attach it to. It is "pdf" attachment, nothing very large.
Regards,
Macmarkus :)
