Hey there guys i know this reset thing is sucky i havent resolved this but i have a weird solution i myself moded my xbox after the warrenty was long gone ive had my same xbox for almost 5 yeaars im always opening it checking it out and like a pc when i work on it i ground myself or where dish gloves (it reduce chance of burning the chips on the console ) anyway i went to my friends house and my console fell down a flight of stairs ever since it sometimes shows the 3RRoD or resets i noticed the hdd makes a noise when i pull it out (lose connecter)then and the fans got slower i guess the lose connecter sometimes make it reset from the pump and the fans slower make it over heat so i got a mini house fan, placed my xbox flat(not standing ) and it lined up right on the right side as a result it hardly ever resets and keeps it cooler i havent opened my xbox since it fell im going 2 ill keep you guys posted the xbox-Gee

If you want to ,you can take some computer cpu fans with the fat end and splice a power cable or use a corded fan that snapps onto the existing connector and have lots of fans in the 360.the cooler it is the better and faster it will run.this will also help to prevent the red ring of death.the harddrive makes noise because of a disbalannce of the magents.if a loud clanking accurs then the harddrive is going bad and need replaced.the fans are probably slower because of the bearing is bad.if they are slow and don't put out much air and they vibrate when ran then they need replaced.if you got any questions please email me at

Red Rim of Death when I switch on my XBOX360! It's no longer covered by warranty! Please help

Log into the site and register your xbox for a replacement, after entering your serial number on your xbox you can check if the xbox is really out of warrenty, because of the regular accurance of Red Rings of Death Microsoft has extended warrenty on xbox's that fail because of this

if your xbox is even out of the RROD extended warrenty
the only things you can do is buy a new one or do the towel trick

please check your extended warrenty before attempting the towel trick as it will void your warrenty

the towel trick overheats your motherboard so the thermal paste melts back onto the motherboard, please note this is a completely temporary trick to get your xbox working again

to do the towel trick, unplug everything from your xbox (hdd, Video cables) just have the power cable plugged in, wrap your xbox in 3 or 4 towels and turn it on, either by pushing through the towels or by using your controller, leave the xbox on for 5-10 mins

unwrap your xbox and turn it off
leave the xbox off with everything unplugged for 2-3 hours if not longer (the longer the better, you want to make sure your xbox has completely cooled down) then after it cooling down completely (remember, 2-3 hours minimum) turn your xbox on and it should work, it may experience a fault or two, but a couple of resets generally fixes this, remember this is temporary, might get another month or so out of your xbox

I've updated my Racing wheel, and now it is prety weird. When the wheel is staight, the wheel in the game are turned slighlty to the right, as I acclerate, the wheel goes crazy trying to correct ...

The only thing i can recommended is to do a fresh install of the Drivers for the wheel and then update again and see if that clears it up. Also make sure that when you plug the wheel in, or start a program that uses the wheel. don't move it to much, it could also be a calibration error.

My xbox 360 is acting weird, I don't know if it the ring of death or what, the problem is that it works if i let it cool down for 4-6h and then it works great for i don't know, maybe 2h. there's no error...

Good guess on letting it cool. A single red light is an overheating problem. If your still under warrenty you can send it off to microsoft to fix. If not then you can try a couple of things to keep it cool.

1: Buy a small fan and point it at your xbox. Airflow is important, moving air is cooler and air that is standing still.
2: Buy an intercooler for your x-box. This costs between 20 and 30 USD ($).
3: Do both.

Xbox 360 turns on, but nothing shows on the screen

If the person that you bought it from on E-Bay had an HD Television. Then the Xbox console is set into HD from the Display options. If your TV is not HD, then It will not display. It can also be the other way around, if His TV is standard and yours is HD. Also try looking at the RCA's(The Part that plugs into the 360) And you will see a slider. Switch the slider, then turn it on. Tell me if that works, if Not, tell me and I will tell you what to press on your 360 controller to set the other menu. Hope this helps.

Hello my mtu is sayin its failed

The MTU(Maximum Transmission Unit) failure when testing the xbox's connection can be do to a few things because Xbox live requires a minimum MTU setting of 1364. Sharing a slower internet connection with other PC's in the house can cause this error, The incorrect MTU setting in your routers programming can cause this error, The lack of firmware updates to your router can cause this error, an older modem from your service provider can cause this. Old or worn network cables and jacks and or RG(coax) cables if you have cable internet could cause this. Your Router or gateway could be incompatible with Xbox live.

Try a direct connection to the Xbox without a router and reset your modem before doing it. If your able to connect then you know its the router. If not you know its the modem or cables or jacks or even your Xbox if you havent tested it elsewhere.
You can tell your ISP to mail you the newest updated modem... sometimes they will have a guy just drop one off.

XBOX 360 keeps resetting itself

There is a Microsoft KB article on this: I would try that and see if that helps. Also try removing and reapplying the faceplate. Did you recently move/bump your 360? If so, I could see the KB article applying to your situation. BTW, what makes me think its user error is the fact that you specify that important 5-10 second window. If a button or something is pressed down permanently, it has a tendacy to be like clock-work, while hardware errors/failures with the 360 seem to be more towards random restarts and failures. If all else fails, just call MS and see what they can do. You may want to repost with exact details of what is going on, your Xbox's condition (dusty?), and what changed to make the event begin.
