Question about Printers & Copiers

2 Answers

Canon ir5000 good day.. i want to ask a solution for our problem.. our machine is canon ir5000.. the problem we encounter is.. if i use the ADF, with long size 8 1/2 x 13 paper, the detection of output copy is LGL or 8 1/2 x 14 which results to 1 inch blank copy on top of paper and the bottom is cut. ( i thick the we have to do some program adjustment to detect the 8 1/2 x 13 or FLS when using ADF) .. there's no problem when we use LTR and A4 and no problem also on FLS if we use platten glass. thank u very much for your help.

Re: canon ir5000

I think you have the european version, which is the adf doesn't able to read the fls size. A paper longer than a4/letter will be detected as legal. It was the firmware of the copier that makes this problem.

The solution is : You can "shift" the result, by pressing "additional function" than "shift", press "<-" (left) before make a copy with adf source. The result will be shifted up about 0.9".
And the bottom page will be still copied as well.

good luck.

Jam 0205 in ir5000 canon machine. Please give me

there could be a small piece of paper stuck wehre the vertical path sensor is. it is showing a stationary jam at the vertical path 3 paper sensor. there is more than likely a sensor that has become wedged or has a piece of paper holding the sensor closed instead of open in or around drawer #3

Adf shows jam when originals placed in adf. adf was checked, no jam found. also trays 1&2 have 8.5x11 paper in them but show A4. how do I change tray size?

to change the paper size for trays 1,2,4 you need to do this in service mode. to get into service mode hit the additional functions button then the 2&8 at the same time then the additional functions button again.

you should be in service mode.

then hit the copier tab...... options tab ..... then the BODY tab in that setting..... and in that menu there should a CST tab in that menu once there you should see tabs for 1 , 2 , 4 you will need to set the value for 1&2 to 18

that should set them back to letter size. email me if you have problems with it

Paper jams when using the ADF. Canon IC D780

Hi there,

When using ADF
* Set a document on the Platen Glass if you want to scan it at optimum quality,
* The area (range) within 0.08"/2mm from the top edge if document cannot be printed since the machine cannot scan it.
*Do not load the following types of documents in the ADF. They will jam.
-Wrinkled or creased paper
- Curled paper
- Torn paper
- Paper with holes
- Carbon paper or carbon-backed paper
- Surface treated paper
- Onion skin or thin paper
- Photogragh or thick paper.
1) Remove any documents from the PLaten Glass.
2) Open the Document Tray.
3) Load the document in the ADF.
Load the document with the side you want to copy, or scan face up in the ADF.
4) Adjust the Doument Guides to match the document width.
Note :
Ensure that the edge of the document stack is in line with the Paper Size Mark imprinted on the Document Tray.

Hope this helps.
Please rate my response.
Have a good day.

Canon MX330 - trying to use ADF. No doc inside on

Canon Pixma MX330, ADF error, Code : 2,103,0
Here's what I found. There were no stuck gears or pieces of plastic caught anywhere.
The ****** can still feed paper, except for (consistently) the last page -->error/stuck.
1) In order to CLEAR THE ERROR you need to do two things
a) & b):
a) Press OK, WITH THE HOOD OPEN, with a piece of paper loaded in the ADF, being careful to grab the paper manually as it comes out of the bottom of the hood.
b) Windex the strip of glass surface which sits under the ADF next to the platen. This needs to be done with attention to minute detail, and a bright LED flashlight; since ink smudges off of documents and collects on the glass with alarming frequency. The machine may think these smudges are caught/jammed paper.
2) In order to SCAN a stack of paper, add one blank sheet to the bottom of your document. This page will be the one that
fails to clear the ADF, generates an error, and must be manually cleared before the next job.
The rest of your pages will have already scanned.

Repeat Every Time You Use it

Hardisk ir5000/ir5000i

You need to have the hard drive "Flashed" with the correct software. They come from Canon blank, you need to find a tech to flash the HD for you. If your question is if one would work in the other copier, the aswer is yes, but you need to have the printting software on that HD if you want it to print.... Good Luck.... Just for your info. you may want to ask your question in English if you want a respones from one of the techs.
