Hello,

Here is a link to your motherboard manual:

KM51PV-AM2 Manual

(I hope that link works. It is not an http site. If it doesn't I'll get you to the Albatron site.)

The front panel connectors are on Page 12.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Just as I thought....Fixya doesn't handle links that aren't http.

Here is the Albatron site where you can click on Manual and download it:

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

How do i get yhe password of by the bios

If you are unable to find the bios password, removing the cmos battery for a minute should reset it so you do not need the password, but you may also loose all the old bios settings. You may also need to short some jumpers on the motherboard (shown in the manual) depending on the model.

If you are not comfortable setting up settings in the bios, i would suggest avoid this. If your game, then you could always choose the option (load all default settings)

Hello When trying to turn on my pc I hear a mesage from the voice genie, saying that there is a problem (your CPU might have a problem, I think). I have amd sempron 2500+ socket a albatron kx18d...

Have you tried removing the Cmos Battery? if not remove it and leave it outside for few minutes (5 mins) and reinstall it (do this while the Machine is off). Boot the system again. It's also important to re-seat all the components like, front panel connectors, usb connectors, audio connectors, hard disk, cd/dvd rom, processor, Ram, fan, power connector, etc... and clean whatever you can and then reconnect or reinstall them. If there's no actual cpu failure or motherboard faulty, your problem will be fixed.

I wonder where's that Genie voice came from :-)

Good luck.

My motherboard has fried: Albatron KM18G Pro 2003. It no longer seems to be available. For the computer to be exactly as it was before disaster struck, do I need exactly the same motherboard?

Well you do not need exactly the same motherboard. You need a motherboard that has the exact CPU socket, DDR slots and AGP or PCI slot.
Here are the specifications for the motherboard: Processor
- AMD Athlon/Athlon XP/AthlonXP Barton/Duron Processor
- FSB 200/266/333MHz
Chipset
- North Bridge: NVIDIA nForce2 IGP
- South Bridge: NVIDIA nForce2 MCP
- I / O Chip : Winbond W83627HF
Memory
- 3 DDR Sockets:
-
DDR200 to 400 non-ECC DDR SDRAM up to 3GB (Single Channel) or up to 2GB (Dual Channel)
Expansion Slots
- 1 x AGP 8X/4X slot (1.5V Only)
- 3 x PCI slots (PCI 2.2 compliant)
IDE Connectors 2 ATA133 channels (up to 4 ATA 133 IDE Devices)
Onboard I/O Connectors
- 1x Floppy Connector
- 2x USB 2.0/1.1 header (4 ports USB cable optional)
- 1x CD_IN header
- 1x COM Port header
- 1x S/PDIF in/out header (S/PDIF in/out cable optional)
- 1x CPU fan header with fan rotation detection function
- 1x System fan headers with fan rotation detection function
- 2x 5 pin system panel header (Intel spec)
- 1x 3 pin Power LED header
- 1x 4 pin Speaker header
- 1x Front audio header (Intel spec)
- 1x Case Open detection header
- 1x Wake on LAN
- 1x 4 pin TV-Out header

So you have to buy a motherboard that has Socket A, that support DDR I memories and has an AGP slot (for the video card).

If you need further assistance, just leave a comment. Thank you for using FixYa.

Ecs 6100sm-m mobo connections

you have a few options

1) buy a sata harddrive (faster then ide), use the ide for the second harddrive (backup) and cd/dvd rom

2) buy a sata cd/dvd rom use the ide on both harddrives (1 set to slave)

3) depends on your budget, buy a sata drive + sata cd/dvd rom so your main drive is on sata (faster than ide) then you only have your second drive as your backup drive on ide.

i had the same problem when i rebuilt mine, i went for the seperate harddrive and cd/dvd rom and my 320 gb ide as my backup drive

sorry to jump on this post aswell, see what others think
