Question about Nvidia GeForce4 MX440SE 128 MB AGP Graphic Card
Hello, i have a problem with my pc. my friend gave me a 128 mb geforce4 mx with agp 8x, however after installing its software and restarting my computer, i cannot get into the windows desktop. It hangs on the blue ''welcome'' screen. please help, i'm afraid that if i buy a new videocard, same problem will occur.
here the System Information------------------
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3
System Manufacturer: P4M80P
System Model: AWRDACPI BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.06GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 1022MB RAM
Sounds to me like either the card is bad or you have a corrupt driver. If you remove the card will it start? then it is a bad card. If you uninstall driver either through safe mode (hold F8 at powerup before windows starts) or restore to last known working config (also F8). I suggest you go to nvidia website to download your drivers. let me know if you are still stuck, we'll work it out.
