Hi, I have an Excellence 7.5 Smart Drive 9 top loader. I have had it for 7 years with no problems. However, I soaked some whites this week and left the whites to soak by pressing "pause. " When I wanted to wash them the lights come up but nothing happens. I have turned the power on aand off several times but nothing happens when I reset the program. I have a full load and water in the machine. How do I reset the machine and / or drain all teh water and start aagain? THanks

The answer does not help my problem. When I program the machine and hit start, nothing happens.  I have a machine that is full of water and I want to:

    1.  know how to get rid of the water in my machine. What do I need to do?
    2. How do I get my machine to come out of this "pause" mode and start running a new cycle.

    Thanks

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

    OR

you need to determine if your drain system in the washer is plugged up
with something. If you lower the drain hose into a large pan or bucket
and see if you get a flow of water. Do this cautiously in order not to
flood your laundry room. Does the washer act like its in the drain
cycle? If it does and you have a flow of water when the hose is lowered
then there is a problem with your pump.

There is no reset button. There is a fuse inside the computer/power module, but if it is blown, replacing it will not fix it. These never blow up unless it is a major problem. Change the module

Fisher&paykel ,smart drive excellence 7 .5 ,the washing machine stopped working during the pumping out of the water.no power on the top panel and a slight humming noise

What is it? No power to panel or slight humming sound which indicated there is power? Can't be both. I would suggest that the humming sound if you put it on spin, will be the drain pump trying to go. If pump is left humming like that it will get hot & shut the power off until it cools down again. Pump hums when it has a blockage & can'y spin. Clear the blockage.

Washing Machine top loader excellence 7.5 smart drive 9 Machine has taken in water, gone through wash cycle and now wont spin, the motor is making a whining noise but nothing is moving and water not...

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

The whining noise you can hear will be from the drain motor which is independant of the main motor and is not visible.
I would suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. Many machines will not start the spin cycle (or unlock the door at the end) if there is water still inside the machine.
Here are my complete, general pre-typed guidance notes for checking both the filter and the drain motor ;-0)
-------------------------------------
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and most are held in by a round cover/knob.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!

It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!

Hi Renee.Just read your posting. The fault you have is called an out of balance switch fault. Now the repair is not too difficult to do but you will need a Phillips screw driver and possibly an electrical test meter. The switch is located under the top panel ,the one with the buttons. If you would like me to guide you throe the repair please reply.Hope this helps.
