Question about Microsoft Life Cam Vx-5000 Webcam

I cannot see my Cam when using Yahoo

I have a Microsoft LifeCam VX-500 - I want to use it with Yahoo but when I connect it and call up yahoo messenger I cant see my cam.

I have other products like Unlead Vid studio I can see the cam, which suggests the drivers are ok and I have tested the Cam on another PC using Yahoo Messenger and its ok.

Any ideas whats wrong with my PC

I think it is a Yahoo problem. Re-install messenger, and see how that helps.

Does your camera work in other online applications?? Also, bring up your control panel, click on devices, and then cameras. Check to see if your webcam is the default device for that application.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

There's no driver or independent software to use with this cam. It has to be used with other software like windows or yahoo live messenger, AIM or skype, etc

It does not work with Yahoo Messenger

You may have a firewall blocking the cam. You could try reinstalling Yahoo and cam software again.

Uninstall the Microsoft LifeCam and disconnect your camera.
Go to this site: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/435/241&cl=us,en

Download the software for the QuickCam Ultra Vision 5. Save to your hard disk and then run the program.
Reinstall the LifeCam software and then plug in the camera. LifeCam will use the Logitech Drivers and your camera should work fine.
