Receiver wont play sound

Hi Sean,
it is time to clean up inside the receiver and replace the power smoothing capacitors and all the electrolytic capacitors if you can,
i think it happens because of power amplifier section failure and dont worry it will not too cost....
if you are familiar with repairs please open up the covers and contact us.

regards,
nuwan

Overload

Is she over-heating - if not then there is a very serious problem with the receiver's power supply internally - so you are well and truly 'scuppered'!
Only answer will come from that very friendly repair man down the street!

Shut off during loud play

Many receivers have a thermal "overload" switch that will shut down power to protect the rest of the unit if it senses an issue like excessive heat, or if the ohms or impedance gets too high. This is a safety mechanism and you should probably seek a qualified audio repair shop for further troubleshooting.

Looking for jvc old receiver model jr-s501

Did you ever find a JVC JR-S501 receiver? I've got one, with a problem. It will play fine for, sometimes half an hour, or sometimes less, and then a loud "POP" sound in speakers. But then will play fine again. Blows fuses on speakers.

Technics SA-AX730 Receiver PLAYS FINE AT A VERY LOW VOLUME.

Your speakers are way tp powerful you should only use speakers just over what the amp is rated at the most and check your impedance is not lower then 6 ohms and turn the bass to half way i am using 60 watt bookcase psb speakers and they work just fine and they pound no problem
