My gas was turned off for 4 days. after being turned back on the pilot will light and the burner fires up but shuts of in 10 minutes

If heater has a sealed front door the air intake filter is probably clogged. Remove the door and vacuum out all the dust and debris in the inside. Then use an air compressor to blow down thru the filter and force out any dust caught in the underside of the filter. Reinstall assemble heater and relite. If problem continues replace the gas control. If unit does not have sealed door just replace the gas control

Richmond LP PowerVent water heater stops heating. LED's A&B, indicating it has cycled three times without ignition. Watching it go through its cycle, the heat plate glows, hear a click, no flame,...

just an educated guess but id say you have one of two possible problems , gas valve bad or flame proof device is bad

the second cause is very common !! so common in fact theres a spare hanging on the side of mine !!!

Rheem powervent ignites then goes out, electronic ignition.

Sounds like a bad thermocouple. This part sends a millivolt signal to keep the gas valve open but shuts it off when it cools - or if something goes wrong with the ignighter - to prevent fires. It's easy to replace and not super expensive. See your local Rheem dealer.

try turning up temp control if that doesnt help, your thermo coupling is probably bad replace that first. also check gas line the shut off valve may have gotten partilaly closed the stem on the valve should be in a line with pipe not perpendicular
