Question about Cyberhome CH-DVD 300 DVD Player

1 Answer

My DVD player seems to be stuck - with a DVD inside. I can't get it to turn off or open so I can remove the DVD. It seems to be stuck with two screens; the movie menu and a screen that appears to overlay that one. The second is a blue screen says OpDVD and has 19/1970 01:08:15 across the top, with the numbers 16 - 20 in a column down the left side of the screen. I tried opening it and/or turning it off with the remote (I just replaced the battery) and on the DVD player itself, but neither method gets a reaction. Help!

  1. Flip the DVD player. Remove the screws and take off the DVD casing.

  2. Look for the DVD holder inside the DVD player. This device holds the DVD in place while the DVD player reads the disk.

  3. Push the stuck DVD disk toward the front of the DVD player until the DVD ejects. Remember the DVD player is not on and some force must be applied.

  4. Replace the casing and the screws. Plug the player in and turn it on. Put another DVD in to test whether the player is working properly. Try the DVD that was stuck if you want to take the risk.
  5. Be careful that you don't break the plastic tray holding the DVD when you try to release it.
More than once I've had a DVD stuck in our Cyberhome CH-DVD300 DVD player. This happens usually because someone didn't put the DVD down into the inset in the tray or wasn't paying attention and loaded two DVDs at once. Try taking the case off (this may void your warranty) and taking the top off of your drive. On my DVD player it's a few screws on the outside of the case, then 4 screws on top of the drive itself, which is enough to be able to remove the DVD easily. Have had to do this 5-6 times because the kids weren't paying attention and there were two DVDs stacked on top of each other in the drive.

my friend says : There is a small hole in the front pannel use a paper clip inserted there and push that will unlatch the door.

try any one of these.gotta work.

How to remove stuck dvd from lg blu ray

sounds like the disk may be sticky on top and is now stuck to the chucking clamp. Try to cut power as the door tries to open, then open the door as much as it will aloow and you should be able to fish the disk out. If it is stuck, you may have to push down the disk with a screwdriver to release it.

DVD player not responding. DVD stuck in player.

Possible failure of the loading or the disc loading mechanism. This needs to be checked only after you open the player and check for a possible mechanical jamming within the player. If so the disc could have stuck inside. broken or maybe with a foreign object.
If not manually turn to confirm on the motor drive to ensure that the DVD loads and returns. If this seems Ok then the motor or the motor drive circuit/IC needs a check.

Dvd stuck in machine will not play or open to remove movie

there might be something hooking the disc tray that is prevent it from opening.

The solution to this problem now is to, get a screw driver, unscrew the screws on the player, open the player cover so that you can gain access to the disc stuck inside, remove the disc and check for what's preventing the player from ejecting.

Take care.

Can't open the DVD door. Wen I turn on the DVD Player, it starts reading a DVD that's stuck inside, and after a while e turns off alone. The door doesn't open and it seems to have some process runing that...

you'll have to remove the top and remove the disk that way. there's a top bracket on the dvd drive to remove before you can get to the disk. and unplug the unit first!!

Upon trying to remove a disk, disk remains in player and tray opens empty

This is caused be the "lift" part of the mechanism not functioning properly. A fix may be inexpensive or not, depending upon what is needed to make it rise and lower properly....accordianman
