Very loud fan or vibration noise

Turned on TV today to hear an awful loud buzzing noise - not from speakers - like a fan or bad vibration. Set was fine day before; was not moved, bumped, etc. It is approximately 2 years old.

I have the same problem. My plasma was exactly 1yr and 1day old when I heard this noise coming from the fan at the rear. There are essentially two fans at the rear top area at the back of the tv easily viewable with good lighting. The noise is really unbearable to me (my roommate doesn't mind it ), however listening to low sound movies or music is quite noticeable.

Listen from the back of the TV and locate the source of the noise. There may be fan with a bad bearing. The noise will lead you to it.

SOURCE: There is a loud buzzing sound, like a weed whacker

U can't the buzzing noises are comming from the tv power supply board itself have some short of problems on it high voltage transformers parts, not easy to get rid of,must know how to troubleshoot and replaced electronic components parts to fixed it.The simpliest way just do a replacement of the whole power supply board, that the board where the power a/c cord plug into it.Tries websites like, to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

My Marshall MG50 DFX Has an awful buzzing sound that comes out of it after startup.

I would check C22 and C24 the main smoothing capacitors. They can fall out at worst or just have bad solder at best.

Speakers had a buzzing/vibrating noise. had them replaced. still making same noise. happens on very low and loud volume. any idea what it could be? possibly the sound board?

maybe just poor speakers.....had a similar problem with an old sony. Replaced the speakers twice and always had a noticeable buzzing. Try running external speakers (computer speakers will work) at low volume to see if you hear it in those. If so, you may have sound board issue.

Samsung 4663w rear projection tv loud buzzing

Buzzing can be caused by a bad ballast, colorwheel, or cooling fan... Nothing else makes a noise, unless it's comming from you speaker.

Hope it Helped U!

A couple of weeks after initial setup of my brand new Onkyo XT-SR606 receiver, I noticed a loud buzzing noise that starts up approximately 10 min after the receiver is turned on. The buzzing is definitely...

The "buzz" you hear is a power hum made by the power supply transformer. It's technically called "Lamination hum" caused by the revering of electrical current through the power supply transformer. In some cases the hum can vibrate the chassis causing other loose material to vibrate. If you can, go to your dealer and check to see if other units of this same type typically make a hum this loud, and if not, see if he can solve the problem for you.

Buzzing noise while making a call

This happens at many phones due to the speaker which buzzes because of the waves made by the conversation. For example try calling someone and be near a desktop pc speaker or radio and you'll hear the same buzzing noise

Sounds like the color wheel or coolin fan both can cause this symptom. If it stops as soon as the set is turned off its probably the color wheel. If it continues for a minute after power is off its most likely the cooling fan.
