I think you mean that you need the driver for your Computer to recognize the player instead of the iRiver needing an actual driver or firmware. If this is the case, then the best solution would be to google the make and model of your computer and "usb drivers". You will likely find a downloadable .exe driver and that should fix your problem

Heres a link to the latest firmware for your mp3 player.
Just download the .hex file and put it into the "root" folder of your iriver mp3player. Then safely disconnect the mp3 player from the computer. Then go to the general options menus and select firmware upgrade. This should take you through the process of upgrading your firmware.

In my case the chipset was Sunplus AJ262-V7 and the utility needed to flash it was FRM Pro.

Once identified you need to connect your device to computer via USB in camera mode (Press A + OK button and plugin USB cord on player), for Windows to identify this mode you will need camera drivers you need to point Windows Found New Hardware Wizard to Driver folder downloaded with the FRM Pro utility above, this will install the first camera driver, for correct identification by flashing utility you need to install a second camera driver - open Windows Hardware Manager and install unidentified camera device drivers by pointing the driver wizard to Driver folder used earlier.

Now install and launch FSM Pro flashing utility the new firmware.

all u need to do is to reaccess the data ribbon........
jus open ur cabinet n have a look at the ribbon........
if its a thick n small ribbon then its a SATA n if its a thin but flat ribbon then its a ID3 ......... in a id3 ..... one end is in the motherboard so the 1 connected to other end is set as master while the one in the centre is the slave........

in SATA for for port no. near the socket in the board....... arrange ur slave in the port of which the no. is more than that of the master....... for eg. if master is in port 3 then slave will be in port 4 or 5

brother if u are using windows xp or higher version u do not need any drivers,,they are autodetectable.....tell me which operating system are u using,,,,i too tried ,,,found only firmware...i ll try n give u the link for the driver
