There should be a CD or DVD with all appropriate software you need to install the drive. Most motherboards will accept the drive. The SATA drive does not need any driver, because it is not talking with the operation system direct. It is communicating on BIOS level. The software you need, should be on a CD or DVD that came with the recorder. Or you could install generic software to burn disks. like NERO.
