I had the same problem with mine, so had to call Customer Services, ( you can find it on the internet ) and I asked for the course I wanted to download, and the guy did this for me there and then. Hope this helps you mate. ;-)
Not sure what kind of battery you are using in your GPS. If you can put in AA or AAA size batteries, try to use NiMH rechargeable batteries the can be bought with capacities till 2500 mA/h. (sometimes suggested 2700 on the battery) but still 2500 mA/h is very much. Do charge the batteries with a charger that is capable to charge correct. When putting a NiMH battery on an old charger for NiCd batteries, the battery never get the full capacity. If the Battery is inside and you must go to a repair shop for replacement, please ask if they can check if the GPS is not draining to much power, because of any malfunction.
Hello there,
Since you have tried charging the device using the usb and the power cord. It is quite clear to know that the problem is from the device connection port. It is bad and need to be replaced.
But you need to Try to test the battery in other devices then try to charge it there to see if it will hold a charge. If the battery holds a charge there, then it means the battery is okay and if it does not charge. Then it means the problem is from the battery. It need to be replaced if so.
Then test the charger/ power cord on another device if it is not bad, then you test the usb cable also. After running these test. You will be clear to know if it is the connection port. Then replace the connection port once confirmed to be the problem.
Hope this helped.
Goodluck

You've broken your LCD screen. But the bad news is that you'll be hard pressed to find a replacement for this model.
My only suggestion would be to find the manufacturer of this product and see if they'll sell you a replacement screen, otherwise it looks like you'll need a new one!
Hi David
I know this is some time after you posted your question. I had the same problem with mine and was ready to throw it in the bin.
Searced the net and someone had posted that they bumped into a Skygolf rep who suggested lifting the charging flap and blowing into the hole.
I thought he's having a laugh, but guess what it worked.
Good luck if you've not already fixed it.
Mark
Generally no. The way replacement parts are priced you won't be too far behind what a new one is. Having said that I just checked prices and you are paying a premium price for it so it might be worth it. A replacement screen IF you can find it should cost about $100 plus labor and shipping. Here the trick, you may not have warrenty but check for it. And see if they offer repair/replacment services. Most GPS manufacturers will repair or replace the unit for a nominal fee right around $100. You either get a refurbished unit or a new one back. The nice thing is that they are not too picky sometimes on whats wrong. So if you ran it over with the truck and then dropped it in the microwave they usually don't care. Do that with a laptop and they scream user abuse and tell you not very nicely to go away and not bother them.
if all cables on battery are clean and tight, then most likely it is the alternator putting out a low charge. test the alternator it should be at least 14 or a little more when running. 12.5 to 13 when off. if alternator is ok, then check all wiring from alternator to battery, and make sure the battery ground is ok!! best of luck carl,
