The cartridge is defective or you have not seated the cartridge properly so that the printer can not make communication with it!
Try reseating the cartridge and before installing unplug the printer from the wall for 70 seconds to clear the memory. Then plug it back in and run install cartridge. If this fails return the cartridge for another. ,,,,
