Chances are you may be low on charge. The easiest way to find this out is feel the larger refrigerant line (covered with black foam insulation). It should be about 50 or 55 degrees. I'm guessing yours is not cool at all usually pointing to a low charge. This would meant that you have a leak that needs to be found and repaired and the sysem recharged. If it is the newer refrigerant r410a, ou need to pull out all the refrigerant and put all new in. It has multiple compounds and they may have leaked out at different rates. If it is r-22 you can just add what you need. good luck, let me know if you need anything else.

Need more info. Does it cool at all? Is there any water coming out of the condensate drain pipe? Does the larger tube at the outside unit feel cool or sweating? Is the small tube outside warm at all. Is there any heat blowing off the outside unit?

I would change the air filter.
I would remove any slime from the coils.
I would check the attic ventilator(where applicable)
Leave the unit set at 70. Don't shut it down during the day when you are away.
I would oil the motors. All of this you can do without being certifyable. LOL

Can you bypass the air coditioner with the serp vbelt on a 90 cheverolet lumina

Not really.
You need the ac pulley to keep the belt tight and running in the right direction.

How to Keep House Cool Without Using Air Conditioning

The expense of running the air conditioner is just too much. You open the house doors and windows up to try to cool the house down. But the house just seems to get hotter. Maybe you are going about it all wrong.

Here is a way for many people to have their houses cooler without running the air conditioner at all. Now I live in an area of the United States that has many cool nights even in the summer time. And I have found that this works very well for me. This will not work for everyone in every climate all the time but for a great many people at certain times of the year and under the right conditions they can save a ton of money with a minimal amount of effort and fore thought.

The trick to this is to cool your house off at night and then trap the cool air in the house during the daytime. When the sun goes down and it starts to cool off outside, open up all the windows and the doors too if that is practical where you live. Let them open all night long, even if the temperatures get rather cool over night. The idea is to get the house to cool down as much as possible.

Hopefully by morning your house is very nice and cool. Now before the sun has time to warm the air temperatures close your house up as tight as if it were wintertime. Try to limit the traffic in and out of the doors if possible. The idea now is to conserve the trapped cool air inside of the house. By doing this you will have a nice cool house all day long until evening when you do it all over again.

The best thing about this process is that is does not cost you anything. A bit of time spent opening and shutting doors and windows could save you a bundle on your electric bill. The process seems like it would not work that well but once you try it and see the results you will love the savings!

The Cool mode wont cool. It's just like fan mode. I cleaned all the dust off the panels and still wont blow cool air.

First the weather is extremely hot mid 90's and humid.I have a Trane combination a/c heat pump system. The A/C was pumping out warm air.I called for a technician and the problem was the compressor was not working. The solution/fix was to replace compressor start capacitor. The technician was here for about an hour. The compressor was running before he left however I informed him the air coming out of the a/c ducts after one hour of run time did not feel as cool as usual. It took from 1pm until 10 pm at night to cool the house air down to 80 degrees and the system ran constantly.I left it on 80 as that is where I usually leave it. Today again it is running all day barely able to keep the house at 80.My home was built in 07 block house, well insulated with thermal double pane insulated windows.I suggested to the tech to check the refrigerant level but he did not think it necessary and did not perform the check while here. The unit will cool the house down to 80 degrees but runs constantly. My question is: Should I have a technician come check out the system to insure proper refrigerant levels and pressure????????

Delonghi pacl90. Lost manual, don't know what setting is best for cooling my house. I have a small 850 sq ft place. Should 1 side be blowing out hot air, and the other side have cool air?

Unfortunately, I don't think you're going to be able to find a setting to best cool your house. The model that you have, is a room air conditioner that only generates 10,000 BTU's and is only rated for up to 400 square feet. That's about half the square footage of your house. It simply will not cool your entire house.

To make the most of what you have, place the unit in a room where you spend the most time. Close the door to that room and only air condition it. To keep the other areas a little more comfortable, close the drapes or blinds during the hottest periods of the day. If you have a ceiling fan in that area of the house, run it a fast as you can comfortably stand, in a clockwise rotation. Generating a wind chill in the area that's not air conditioned will help make it more tolerable.

I hope I was of help to you. Thanks for choosing fixture.

My air conditioner starts blowing like a fan before my apartment is cooled off, why does it kick off and on like this?

When you first turn it on the fan runs and after a few minutes the outside unit comes on, once the outside unit comes on it take time for it to cool the coils which cool the house, And a/c does not really cool the air,It removes the heat that is in the air.

My rooftop Trane A/C unit shows high humidity on the thermostat, will not cool the house during the day but cools fine at night. What could the problem be? Also, how can I lower the humidity in the house?

High humidity causes Icing of the cooling coils. Avoid constant running of the a/c. Meaning let the AC pull the house dow 2 - 3 degrees at a time.. The unit shutting off will allow the ice to melt. Make sure the drain is clear by going outside and chkg for drainage. Once the house is reasonably dehumidified the ac can be set and left on its own.
