Question about Car Audio & Video
I have a 2000 Toyota Echo AM/FM/CD/Cassette stereo, Model 86120-2B680 with a cd player problem. The problem started with the cd not playing every once in a great while. It would work after a couple of eject/reinsert tries. It got worse and finally got to where it would not play unless the car sat in the sun all day and the interior was quite warm. The next day it would not play until it sat in the sun, etc. We took it to the only place we could find locally to fix it but after a few months he gave up. He said it needed a part but he could not order it. He did not let us know what the part was. Can it be fixed? Or is it better to check salvage yards for another one? Can my cd portion be taken out of the radio and replaced with a cd from another Toyota cd player? An after-market stereo is not an option for my wife. Any help would be appreciated.
