Question about Uniden Cordless Phone
Phone showing "unavailable" and there is no dial tone. I have tried removing battery , power off the unit , nothing works
This happened to me and I finally tried switching phones and it solved the problem! Somehow the phones must have been switched by accident. That's all it took to solve the "unavailable" message!

Unavailable and no dial tone usually means that there is a bad wire between the base and the wall or the wall jack is bad.

Hi peddler65, did you plug your phone into another area to see if there is a dial tone. Then if not call the phone company or find the D-mark (where your dial tone ) comes into your home and put a jack on that and plug a phone in with all phones
in the house unplugged.

SOURCE: Dial Tone but won't call out.
I just had the same problem. Try unplugging the plug from the electrical outlet for the home(base) unit and plugging back in. Fixed my problem right away.

Replacing the battery reset the phone to the factory defaults, which means you'll have to restore the connection to the base in Menu-Setup
