When you changed brushes did you clean the armeture, should be bright an shiney,if yes then go to basics check imput power to on off switch,if yes check on n off switch is working right.check wireing while there(for broken wire ,loose wire)if all checks out ok i would look at armeture and windings.

How to replace brush holders on dewalt table saw dw745

There is a small allen screw in the field housing holding the brush holders in.
Most often I have found, if the brush holders are needing replacement the motor housing also needs replacement - they heat up and the plastic cracks.

How do you change the brushes

You have two, 1/2 inch flat head screw things on the right side of the motor, pull them out, the carbon should be at least 1/4 inch long, min, brushes can be bought at the hardware store. The electric brakes on those saws eat them brushes up. Check it out.

Did you sense an odd smell? Try removing the brushes, there should be two, it could be one is worn too short or the connecting wire is broken.

Dewalt flip saw keeps blowing fuse

common problem with this saw is the brushes when worn down to about half inch, won't go into the brush holder any further and starts to arc against the commutator. eventually the heating will burn out the commutator. a replacement armature will cost you $75 plus shipping.

Dewalt bench saw

All electric motors are set up in the same way. (Please refer to the little schematic I have drawn below.) Different models are wired slightly different and please note that your particular saw may only be able to go in one direction. Also some fields have 4 wires instead of 2, and if this is your case please ignore the rest of this post and bring your saw to a professional to be looked at. If your saw is going the wrong way your motor may be damaged and will need to be replaced or at least tested with the proper equipment. With that said, there should be 2 wires coming from your field. Wires "B" and "C" respectively. One of these should go to your switch, and the other should go to one of the brushes. Wires "A" and "D" are coming from your brushes and as noted above one should be going to the field. Let's assume that wire "A" is directly hooked up to the white wire of the cord. And let's also assume the the black is hooked up to "C" of the field. "B" and "D" should be linked in this setup. In order to reverse the polarity of the motor you would switch the field brush setup. One field wire and brush wire should always be connected to complete the circuit. By changing the "B"-"D" connection to instead be a "C"-"D" connection with "A" still going to the neutral "white" wire and now the "B" wire going to the switch, you have effectively changed the polarity of the motor. ****Please note that some of these saws have an electric brake and should not be rewired in this manner**** Again if your saw just started going the wrong way one day, you should get it looked at by a professional repairer. There may be more problems that have caused this to happen,

Could be worn brushes, dirty commutator or a combination of both. Unplug the tool and remove one brush at a time noting the condition and length. Use a flashlight look into brush tube and also not condition of commutator. I would blow is out with compressed air and you can try turning the brushes 180 deg and retry. That is usually the problem
