The manufacturer is Delta Electronics, Inc.

Their website is down.

However, I did find it :c) Took awhile...

If you are going to give advice, make sure your advice is RIGHT!

NO...DO NOT GET ANY ATX POWER SUPPLY BECAUSE IT WON'T FIT. Look at the power supply, it is a special form factor, not an ATX. Searching on Ebay won't help unless you type in the model number of the power supply.

Again, DO NOT GET A NORMAL ATX POWER SUPPLY BECAUSE IT WILL NOT WORK. The link I gave you is an exact replacement for your special form factor power supply.

    lilg4mdalbc,

The power supplies you suggested WILL NOT WORK:

    ATX POWER SUPPLY:

    This person's power supply:

This isn't about connectors, forget that the connectors are even there.

See the power supply? See how big it is. That is a normal sized ATX power supply. See the one on the bottom? This is the power supply that goes into her computer because it is a slim form computer, the power supply is totally different. Nothing to do with connectors, but about the size of the power supply. If you actually looked up the x1700 first, you would have noticed that it wouldn't take a normal ATX power supply.

  • Kevin Shafer
    Kevin Shafer Jun 27, 2009

And ATX is not a brand, it is a form factor. ATX form factor, mATX (micro ATX) form factor, FlexATX (Flex form factor). NOT a brand, but a form factor.

  • Kevin Shafer
    Kevin Shafer Jun 27, 2009

In fact, here is a picture of her computer. Can you explain to me how the top (ATX form factor) power supply is going to fit in it replacing the one on the bottom?

  • Kevin Shafer
    Kevin Shafer Jun 27, 2009

Yes, appropriate Height and Width, however there is only one power supply of this type and it must be replaced with the same model number or a simillar model number that reflects the wattage. In this case the model number is 220ub and that is the ONLY thing that will fit in this computer.

  • Kevin Shafer
    Kevin Shafer Jun 27, 2009

These power supplies are about 2"high by 3 " wide and around 7" long I don't have exact measurements because they aren't listed on any website. These are not OEM as Acer doesn't make them, they are made by a company called Delta and there may be a Lite-On version as well that's priced just as much as the Delta version. My point is, doing an ebay search for desktop power supplies will give you 95% ATX sized power supplies and that is not what she needs in this case.

  • Kevin Shafer
    Kevin Shafer Jun 27, 2009

Except that one, obviously for a Dell is $90 whereas the one I showed her, an exact duplicate by model number is only $50. And I can't tell if the screw holes are in the right place (though on the back they probably are) but it doesn't appear to have the bracket for the internal screw that these small form Acer's have.

  • Kevin Shafer
    Kevin Shafer Jun 27, 2009

Point is, here you will find an exact match at half the price of the others.

  • Kevin Shafer
    Kevin Shafer Jun 27, 2009

220W is plenty to run what the computer came with. Sure, if she upgrades the graphics card to the latest then it may be a problem but, it's not upgradeable anyways so a 220w will be fine for what there is.

    Kevin Shafer Jun 27, 2009

Assuming the system is as it was when shipped, the total wattage drawn from this computer running constantly is:

    Recommended PSU Wattage: *

  • Kevin Shafer
    Kevin Shafer Jun 27, 2009

    Well, that didn't show lol.

Maximum wattage used by computer: 161 W.

On ebay, type desktop power supply, and lots of universal power supplies show. Many times, power supplies from other computers work. Just make sure the description of the power supply says for intel dual core processors and is above 220w, because i looked up the specs and it has a 220w power supply and an intel dual core processor. Dynex is one of the brands that come up, and seem relitavely cheap, and seem to meet the requirements for the neccesary power supply. Goodluck.

i typed earlier, and forgot to add, most of the power supplies show the size of the power supply, so you can measure your power supply and match it, just make sure the power supply is above 300w and has SATA connectors and pci express connectors.

  • Jorge Majano Jun 27, 2009

also, the companies that sell power supplies on ebay make them compatible with a wide variety of motherboards and computer chasis, and im in a computer repair class, so i know for a fact that it DOES NOT have to be the OEM power supply to power the motherboard correctly, but it has to meet the minimum requirements and has to have the switch in the back of the power supply set at 115v not 220v

  • Jorge Majano Jun 27, 2009

    antiochpc,

the power supplies that show up on ebay have sata and pci express connectors, not ata, which is the picture that you posted, sata and pci express is what all new computers are powered with, which mean the new dynex power supplies with the following specs:

    Product Features

400-watt power supply ATX 12V v2.2 compliance Compatible with Intel® and AMD multicore processors 4.7" fan; fan speed control function Low power consumption on standby Short-circuit, overvoltage and overcurrent protection 24-pin main connector, PCI Express connector and SATA connector Includes one 24-pin-to-20-pin adapter and power cable
Product Details Warranty Terms: Parts 1 year limited Warranty Terms: Labor 1 year limited Product Height: 3.4" Product Width: 5.9" Product Weight: 3.5 lbs.
      Product Depth: 5.5"

      is compatable

  • Jorge Majano Jun 27, 2009

ATX is a brand of computer products, not product types.

  • Jorge Majano Jun 27, 2009

wattage and connection wise, the power supply IS compatable, size is a different story, that is why i stated to look for the appropriate HEIGHT and WIDTH, the picture you posted is a universal power supply, but different sizes ARE made, so it DOES NOT have to be OEM.

  • Jorge Majano Jun 27, 2009

may i ask the height and the width of the power supply? because the document posted does not state it

  • Jorge Majano Jun 27, 2009

another suggestion is to go to acer.com, register your product, and ask for a warranty exchange

  • Jorge Majano Jun 27, 2009

    http://www.dellcomputersale.com/7-193870...

found this possibly compatable power supply

  • Jorge Majano Jun 27, 2009

    http://www.atxpowersupplies.com/270-watt...
    another possibility

  • Jorge Majano Jun 27, 2009

problem with that one is, its still only a 220w power supply, which may also burn out

  • Jorge Majano Jun 27, 2009

but if the first power supply burnt out, 220w might not be enough, especially since the computer runs on a dual-core pentium processor, so it is recommended to buy a power supply with a higher wattage, especially since this acer model is notorious for its weak power supply.

  • Jorge Majano Jun 27, 2009

then maybe the capacitors for this power supply aren't powerfull enough to handle this motherboard for a long time

Any ATX power supply unit will fit but you MUST ensure that the wattage output meets the minimum requirement for your system. This will be printed on the original unit. However as this one burnt out I would suggest you go for one with at least 100 watts more.

Cd drive in my acer aspire x1700 doesn't open

You are going to need a paper clip. Look fo a small hole next to the switch. straighten the paper clip and put it in the hole in the center. carefully push to activate the mechansium to open the door. Then you can troubleshoot the door. Turn off the computer then pull the power cord from it. Open the computer case find the power cable to the cdrom/dvdcdrw and push it in to make sure you have good connection. If it still doesn't work after this then you can get a new drive for less than $30.00 (usd)

Hope this helps,
Terry

My acer x1700 doesn't power up the power supply

Check your CMOS battery make sure its in tight and is not drained. also check the power switch cable from the power button to *********** board, that is the most common issue i see in my shop daily. and of course the power cord i would switch that out as well bad power cables are also very common.

I need replacement psu for acer aspire x1700 slimline tower

to be honest, the X1700 is a weak computer, you should NEVER buy slimline desktops, the power supply is going to cost more than the computer, being that it is a special type, you cant just buy it in a store, having to replace some myself, i can tell you that a decent used PC is around $150, and you can still put some of the hardware from the slimline into the used PC such as the hard drive, cd drive, and memory. Best of all, a full sized unit can be fixed relatively easily and for a lot less since most parts are interchangeable

I have replaced the power supply on my Acer Aspire X1700 computer but the new power supply acts exactly like the old. When I plug it in and turn it on the "Power Supply On" voltage goes from 5 VDC to 0 VDC...

When you have this problem on this PC, do not replace the power supply or the motherboard until you have first tried pulling out the video card. When the video card fails it can cause the x1700 to not power up. Pull the video card and see if it will power up without it.

Cracked lcd sct reen acer aspire 5315 model

I would start by doing a search on Ebay. Often times you can get parts or a damaged laptop with parts for a very reasonable price. I just did a search for your laptop model and found a damaged Acer Aspire 5315 for $81. As of this posting on 10/31 at 9:10 am CST time, the auction ends in 2 hrs.

After doing a quick internet search, I found a web site called http://www.screencountry.com and I saw a monitor for your model listed at $99.

Does Acer x1700 have internal speaker because I cannot get any sound. I have not been supplied with a handbook

..hmm, your user guide:

http://www.gadgetsmanual.com/acer-aspire-1700-series-users-guide.html

..tour of your specs from acrobatplanet.com :

http://www.acrobatplanet.com/manual-ebooks/acer-aspire-1700-series-user-s-guide.html

Check out above under "Multi-media", you have (4th bullet and 7th bullet) 'audio input and output jacks' + '2 stereo speakers & subwoofer'.

Might want to tell a good service center about that sound issue since
a NO SOUND problem might indicate not only 'bad stereo speakers' but
since you have a sub-woofer, that circuit might have blown (along with significant parts of your output audio).
