Poweredge 6600 not showing display

If you have multiple video connections (onboard from motherboard, usually vertical or stand alone video card, usually horizontal) that you plug into the stand alone card, as the onboard is normally disabled when the expansion is installed. Verify the cable and monitor both work and that the monitor is on the correct input. Finally try another video card, if you have one available. Even if the drivers are not correct, etc, you should still see a boot screen.

Acer AL1917W LCD monitor powers up but no image at all.

The CPU and PSU, have absolutely nothing to do with a monitor.

HERMAN has the correct response. For the info you posted.

When you have a video problem, you post what the motherboard is or what model PC, the graphics card, and what drivers you have installed.

I hav a asrock p4i45dv mother board , its cpu lights appear but nothing is displayed in monitor may i know the cause of this problem and soluton

This is either a bad monitor, a bad video card (if you're using a stand-alone card), or a bad motherboard. Test the monitor by connecting it to another computer. If the monitor works, then it's the video card or MOBO. Use a stand-alone (PCIx/AGP) video card that you are certain works. If this does not work, then the MOBO is not working. I hope this is helpful and best of luck!

Check all of your adapter cards (PCI or AGP or PCIE) to ensure they are seated into the MB properly. As the problem seems video related double check the graphics adapter if it is a stand alone card. AGP cards can be tricky to seat properly on some mb's

The Computer was working just find then the video just quit working an won't come on. It is a onboard video card.

The first thing to check is the monitor. If able, plug the monitor into another machine to verify the monitor is good. If the monitor is good I would recommend trying a stand alone graphics card. If the video then works with a stand alone graphics card, then the on board video is probably bad. If the latter is the case then you can run the stand alone graphics card but the motherboard is probably on its way out. If the monitor does not work on another machine, it is most likely swollen capacitors or transistors on the inside of the monitor. If this is the case repair or replace monitor.

If you are seeing the same thing on your Notebook screen and an external monitor then it is most likely NOT the monitor, and VGA would be more suspect. Before doing much else though, right click a blank spot on your desktop and click "Personalize"; go through the various video items there to try to make things more useful. Let me know, OK?

I'm also experiencing same sort of white screen problem.

To determine if the LCD screen or the video card is faulty, connect an external monitor to the video connector on the laptop. Power up the external monitor first and then the laptop. The video should divert automatically to the external monitor and if you get a normal image then the video card is OK and the fault could be the LCD screen or the video cable. Reseating the video cable and connector on the motherboard could fix yout problem.

Lcd not working

You could have a faulty video card, or a faulty inverter, (this supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp), or a faulty CCFL lamp.

Connect an external monitor to the laptop and power it up, if you see a clear image on an external monitor, this means your video card is OK.

If you see a very dim image or flicking image on the LCD screen it means you have a backlight problem.

Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

MY ACER LAPTOP SCREEN TURNS ON BUT THE SCREEN IS BLACK

To determine if you have a video card problem or the LCD screen is at fault.
Connect an external monitor to the video port on the laptop and boot up your laptop, if you get a display on the external monitor then your video card is OK and you have a faulty LCD.

When you power your laptop without an external monitor and have a close look at the LCD screen at and you see a slight image then the fault is with the backlighting panel. This fault could be a faulty inverter or a faulty CCFL backlight lamp.

Defective CCFL backlight may has the following symptom:
  • Screen flashs on red/pink and off.
  • Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal.
  • Picture flickering with dim display.
  • Picture flickering on and off.
The inverter can be easily replaced so can the CCFL lamp (but requires a lot more work)
