Question about Sewing Machines

2 Answers

I ordered a new bobbin shuttle case for my singer 6423 sewing machine. I have received it but now cannot figure out where the little round gasket (or o-ring or whatever it is called) goes. Does it go under the shuttle case or inside the shuttle case? I know how to install the shuttle case itself and the bobbin. I have been surfing the web for hours and cannot find any information. A photo would be even better. Thanks!!!!

I 've been using this 2639 Singer since 2006. It was working perfect until one day the bobbin case popped up away from the shuttle causing the needle to be blocked from moving. So, I removed the p

First change that needle. It's likely bent. A bent needle won't create a stitch.

Then double check your timing. It sounds like you have it ******** a bit... But that's hard to determine from a description. Before you start the timing process, make sure that your needle bar is in the correct position. (typically the upper timing mark on the needle bar is just below the lower needle bar guide when the needle is at its very lowest point) If necessary loosen the needle bar holder and make a correction. Once the needle bar is positioned correctly... then move on to the shuttle/needle timing.

Good luck!

I have a singer 7468. THE BOBB IN CASE KEEPS POPPING OUT. CAN THIS BE FIX?

the sewing machine may need a new bobbin case,, but I would
suggest take the sewing machine to a repair shop to see if there
is something wrong with the hook & hook race,,that may be why
the bobbin case is coming out.

My bobbin won't stay threaded on my Singer 6423. Recently replaced the bobbin case.

always keep a 3 to 5 inch tail for the bobbin
also works good for the top thread

Can't get the bobbin case back in on my singer hd 110. It came out on it's own. The manual is not very helpful.

If this is a vertical/metal bobbin case; raise the needle to it's highest position. This will position the shuttle to accept the bobbin case.

If the bobbin case has a lever on the back, lift it and hold it open as you place the bobbin case back into the shuttle. It should click into place.

Threading bobbin on singer stylist 522

To wind a bobbin put the cotton reel on the top pin, take the thread to the left and round the little wheel and back to the bobbin that should be on the winder, wind the thread round a few times to take a grip, release the stop motion in the balance wheel, turn the winder button so the winder moves to the balance wheel and press on the foot control slowly.
When you put the bobbin in the bobbin case make sure it turns anti clockwise.

Bobbin case and threading singer 6423

This machine has a black plastic bobbin case. You drop the bobbin down into the case with the thread coming off in a clockwise direction. If you look close you will see a slot in the bobbin case where there is the metal pieces. The thread will slide into that and as you pull on it it will work its way through and come out on the other end of the metal. Lay the thread over top of the bobbin case and turn the handwheel to pick up the thread. (make sure you close the slide plate)

Raising bobbin thread

These machines are timed by belt and go out of time a lot. Check and see that when the needle passes through the plate and travels upward 1/8" at this point the rotating hook should be right behind and above the eye in the needle,my guess is that it is out probably 1 tooth on the timing belt and can usually be corrected by removing the bobbin case and holding the rotating hookk with on ehand and forcing the handwheel with the other hand which will cause the belt to jump a cog and should put your machine back in time I hope this helps
