Question about Nintendo DS Console
Hi, My daughters top screen started to only work when she had the DS open in a certain position.
Now it has completely stopped working.
Anybody know what to do?
I have a solution! I am a mechanical engineering student at Purdue. My little brother spilled water on his DS lite and the screens had little weird warbly spots on it, but it still worked. He asked me if I could fix it.
I bought replacement screens for it and went to work tearing it apart. Once I got the screens replaced, I put it back together and tried it. It worked perfectly, but then something happened and it stopped altogether. After that, when I would slide the power switch on, the light blinked on and the bottom screen turned on. Then, the unit quickly powered-off and that was the end of it.
After a lot of research I found what the problem was. It was discovered that a lot of DSs were "Bricking," or stopped working, same problems as you guys have. You need to reroute some sections of the motherboard to bypass defunct safety mechanisms. If you would like more information, please email me at email@example.com. As each case can vary. I have repaired a large number of DSs and DS lites. Chances are, I can help you too!

If the green light comes on for only about 1 - 2 seconds then:
This is common occurrence when the cable to the top or bottom screen has been damaged. Usually happens with a bad repair attempt. It could be anywhere along the cable or at the point were it plugs in to the circuit board. To narrow the trouble down you need good screens and good DS's to verify working components and defective components.
