My light operates once I reset the thermal switch, but after 10-15 minutes it trips again, anyone know the cause of this. I have replaced this switch 2 weeks ago, I feel the pipes get hot, but again it trips after 10-15 minutes. Any suggestions????

There should be a shield on the right side of the access compartment. behind the shield will be 2 red wires leading up to a small round disk about 10in up from the bottom of the unit on the side of the heat exchanger. Between the 2 connectors on the disk there will be a small black button. Press the button firmly so it clicks (This is a SAFETY DEVICE, DO NOT BYPASS) and then check to see if the lights come on and the unit operates.

is it 110 or 220? if it is a 110 first check your breaker/ fuse panel for tripped breaker or blown fuse if 220 it would be a double breaker. if you find tripped breaker remember some panels require you to turn the breaker fully off then back on to reset. if 110 and no blown breakers, check your laundry room for a GFI (ground fault interrupt) outlet. make sure that it is not tripped either. to reset that just push the reset button on the outlet. best of luck to you

More than likely you have tripped the house circuit breaker or fuse. If you know where the house fuse box or circuit breaker panel is check to see if either one side of the two 240 fuses is blown or one of the two tied together circuit breakers is tripped. If it is a breaker then shut off both breakers completely and then snap them both on completely or they won't reset. It is rare that an oven has a fuse internally. There can be thermal fuses but they will trip when the temperature is out of range.

The under unit light burned out and tripped the circuit breaker. Replaced bulb and reset breaker but light doesn't work. I see there is an internal fuse. Could this be the problem as there is no power...

These remarks are not make and model specific.

Did you test the new light bulb?

I would not normally expect a burned out light to trip a breaker.

You may have a blown fuse. I suspect the fuse you see is to protect the oven. If you popped a breaker, you may have blown a fuse. I'd be looking for a short somewhere, maybe in the wire that powers the light, maybe in the hardwire that supplies the oven.

Make sure you turn the power off before you go poking around. And, above all, avoid the silver can inside, it IS lethal.

Let me know if this helps.

If you have AC hydro for sure to unit, perhaps a fuse in the 12 volt DC panel has blown, or in thermostat itself. Hear any clicking at AC unit when turned on? If not, check all your fuses in 12 volt DC panel. Check breaker didn't trip also on 120 VAC.

Dometic RM2862 Can you reset the thermo fuse? Current going to it but nothing going out and wouldn't this cause the unit not to work at all?

It probablby has a timer in it. You can reset the timer by turning it clockwise, and the compressor would come on again. It is usualy located under the concoles where the setting button is located. Look for a small hole under that console. If a thermal breaker is making the compressor cut off, it is usually located on the compressor where all the wiring are going in, along with the starting capacitor. Usually if the compressor is overheating and making the thermal breaker go off, there is a problem with the compressor, or it is low on refrigerant. A low refrigerant will make a compressor overheat. Furthermore if the compressor has been being overload by low refrigerant, it will be damaged sooner or later, by overheating the elecmotor inside and causing a short. If resetting the timer don't work and it is indeed the thermal breaker, unplug the machine and get it service, which I hope the compressor is still okay.

The heating element most likely has a short in it. Pull the to leads leading to it test the ohms to see if you have a short

Neither fan or compressor will com on

You have a short circuit in the system at some point. A blown fuse on the circuit board indicates a short in the control circuit. Tripping of the breaker indicated a high voltage draw from the compressor. Check the compressor motor terminals with the wires removed and the power off. Use an Ohm meter from a terminal to ground. You should have no reading. If you have any reading the compressor motor is shorted out and the compressor is done.
