It is probably just like a window unit. You is gonna have ta remove it from its hole and get the cover off. Probably put a line tap on it and shoot it with R22. If ye do not have a card ye cannot buy R22. Their ain't no sub you can buy.

We have a 1997 Coleman popup camper. The air is just a little cool and it keeps leaking on the inside. I called a repair place and was told it was most likely low in freon and that it could not be added...

the drain is blocked and needs a clean out ,look for a drain hole with a pipe to the outside .as for the gas recharge then yes it can be filled by a specialist and not a chancer ,you have to cut a pipe on the motor and solder a connection on the end not a problem for a experianced person

Coleman Mach 3 ac unit tries to start compressor & kicks off

50 foot extention cord not a problem IF it is at least 10 gauge and plugged in to a 20 amp circuit

Your compressor is shutting down for a lack of AC voltage would be my best guess

How do i remove a coleman air condidioner from pop-up

If you are removing the unit permanently, then remove the inner cover of the AC. You will 120VAC coming into the unit from either an extension cord or power cord. Remove the connectors for the 120VAC. Depending on the model, you will have a duct running from the upper unit to the lower unit, remove this duct. Unplug the 9 pin connector that connects the upper unit to the lower unit. Now, remove the four bolts the hold the upper to the roof (one in each corner). The ceiling pack should now be free. Push up on the a/c and it should be loose. Carefully remove it from the roof as it weighs nearly 100lbs. The fill the hole, you should be able to go to any local RV facility and pick up a standard roof vent. Install the roof vent in the hole and coat it with roof coating.

Hope this helps,

Jeff

I am looking at a 94 Coleman pop up camper. The

They are a closed system, so obviously it had/has a leak. You can get some AC guys that will retrofit it to allow for adding freon, but if it has a leak anyway, which will probably cost you a couple of hundred bucks to find out you have a leak that may not be evident until after you've already bought it, then leaks out again, and your back at square one. Depending on what size BTU's you want, you can pay anywhere from $500-$1000 + plus inside controls etc, if needed.

At a State park... AC freezing up

If the unit is low on freon, there should be visible signs of leaking somewhere in the upper unit. Are you running the system on Low Cool? This will often times cause the AC to freeze up because the condenser fan and the evaporator fan are on the same motor. If you run the system on low cool, you are not getting enough air movement over your condenser to effectively warm up the freon and thus causing the system to freeze. Turn it to high and adjust the thermostat if it is too cold, this should help.
