Question about Acer Aspire One A150-1006 Notebook
Acer aspire one is not starting up. It gets to the windows xp startup and then immediately goes into a fault description that i can't see because it flashes away so fast and goes back to the selection screen for safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt, last known good config. and start windows normally.
There are two possibilities i can think of, one, a virus, two, a bad driver file. what you can do, is run it in safe mode, if it goes to the log in screen, you could log in, and when a dialogue box appears to run in safe mode, click yes. then, go to the start menu, then locate my computer, right click on my computer, and click on manage. A window will pop up that says computer management on the top. In the middle, click on system tools, then device manager, and it will show a list of all of the devices that are installed. Lots of times, your display driver is updated and causes your computer to be unstable, there fore, giving you the bluescreen error, which causes your computer to constantly restart. (make sure all recently installed devices are unplugged before doing this. new devices may also cause this error). look for any devices with an exclamation point, right click, and uninstall them, then restart the computer to see if it solves your problem. if not, then it might be a virus that activates with internet acces, if so, run your computer in safe mode, and run a virus scan and hope that it finds the virus. If that doesn't work, then what i recommend is try to back up your work in a flash drive or disk and running the backup disc that comes with your computer. to run that, sometimes your computer comes with a disc, run that disc and follow the instructions. if not, then sometimes it comes preinstalled, and have to press f10 on the first boot screen. if none of those options are available, then call the manufacturer and ask for the restore disc for your computer model. Good luck
