I just fixed one of them, a P4T-E that was dead. I bought it for two bucks as is for parts. Turns out I found a transistor with a base-emitter short, so I replaced it. When I plugged it in again it started beeping so I fed it a video card and ram. Check Q12 by the secondary IDE. I used a TIP122 for replacement, it is 8 amps and the fryed one is 5. It is larger and has to be crammed in but it is heavier duty. So for two bucks I got a working Asus P4 board! That transistor regulates the 2.5 volts for the rambus, so if it goes the ram doesnt get the right voltage..

Try these steps-
1. Shut down and unplug ac cord to power supply
2. Pull main power supply cable out of mother board (20 pin sometimes labled p1, it is largest of power supply connectors)
3. Pull 4 pin connector from power supply to motherboard.(2 black wires and two yellow/blac wires in this connector.
4. Remove cmos battery then using paper clip or screwdriver short the 2 battery contacts together. (this erases cmos info that can become corrupter preventing boot up)
5 put everything back together and try starting up.

I've had some succes with this when other techs proclaim the mother board is dead, hope works and good luck

Help my dell is not displaying but the front led is showing the power light on CPU but is not displaying on the monitor and i have used working RAM on the Computer but the problem is the same, kindly help...

If you do not hear a post beep sound, then you may have an issue with the motherboard and/or processor. I suggest you either take it in for repair or replace yourself

If you hear the post beep sound, then listen for the sequence of beeps. This should indicate what is wrong with the machine. Generally(Note: these may be different with motherboard and/or bios type).
  • sequential long beeps indicate RAM issues
  • 1 long followed by two short indicate a display adapter issue

No ram beep comes without ram and no display

> No RAM beep comes without RAM.

That is to be expected -- when the motherboard does _NOT_ detect any properly-mounted RAM, the motherboard sounds the "no-RAM" beep.

> and no display

Correct. Without RAM, the computer cannot "paint" anything onto the video screen.

No display on boot motherboard e210882

does it has any beeping sound? if you hear any beeping sound check youre memory module or vga card, now to know the diff between the two is the beeping sound first if you hear a long beeping sound it means that a memory replacement is needed, second if you hear a short beep and has intervals you have a problem with vga card, now if your vga is built in try putting a vga card now it depends on the motherboard weather it has a agp or pci-e port, before you do this try checking youre power supply if it is working, hope this help
