SOURCE: Boke End cap from Greenlee GT-11 Voltage Detector

You'll be lucky to find one as the product is inexpensive. Try this instead. A lot better design.

Quit working no reason 1 yr old..has new bat on it

On this model there is no fuse in case you test to high of a voltage. So My thoughts are maybe the small spring fell out when changing the batteries or ( I am not being smart ) you put the batteries in backwards. Also try another set of batteries and of course a circuit you know is live. Mine is 5yrs+ old and have never had a problem with it. If tis doesn't work they aren't that pricey I would just get another one.

I have a gt-11 detector, my question is when i touch a 120 volt wire whith electricity on i'm geting a full beeping ( stable ) and what the meaning of touching another wire and get a continuel beep beep...

It is detecting Residule voltage off the hot line, your common/Neutral should have no voltage. One thing I have noticed when using many non contacts if you are Holding a live wire (on the insulation)
I have gotten false readings (continous beeps) from the non-contact when checking neutral lines. Unsure as to why but something I have came across when trying to seperate wires while testing.

GT-11 Lights up when near my granite counter top ????----Also Nearly All Electrical Metal Items In House----When We Unplug Microwave Granite It Stops Showing Voltage ????----RICK

Grnite is SLIGHTLY conductive so if your counter top goes anywhere near live wires such as an appliance, you may sense it is hot with thaat detector. The stray field from the microwave is jumping onto the granite... HOWEVER please verify that your ground on the microwave is intact and returns to the third wire and has continuity to the case of your breaker box. If the ground is broken, that will certainly cause the indication. You can get one of those receptacle testers to test this.

ALSO NEVER trust the detector when safety is an issue. The device is "indication only" and it can be wrong for various reasons.

I need to know what batteries to put in my inductive voltage tester, Greenlee model 1010..

It takes two type 357 button cells. Fry's sells for $2, Radio Shack for about $3.
Make sure + sides goes into the body, not the cap.

Unable to open my GT-11 Voltage Detector

Hold the tester in your hand and you will see the on/off switch at the end of the tester. Make certain that the tester is turned to "off" and just below the word "off" you will see a small white dot. You will need to depress the white dot and while doing so turn the top part of the on/off switch toward that white dot. At the same time you will also need to pull that cap upward, like you would be pulling it off the tester, and you will see that it slides up and off. That is where the two AAA batteries are located!! Re-installing it is just the opposite of removing it.
