Disconnect battery, remove screws holding floor down, the part covering the gearbox, remove starter motor, unbolt driveshaft at gearbox end, remove tin cover bottom of bellhousing, undo rear mount bolts, remove all bell housing bolts, with front seats removed you can lift the gearbox out of the car, ensure anexact alignment of the clutch plate and pilot bearing in the flywheel when fitting new parts, you can use a small socket and extension bar to align them. reverse procedure to refit components. good luck.

Location of vin number on 1966 morris minor pick up

To the best of my knowledge the Morris Minor was built before the vin number system was born.
What you will be looking for is the BMC chassis number which is stamped on an aluminium plate riveted under the bonnet and also stamped in various places into the bodywork.

Google will provide images showing examples.

How to change a choke cable on a morris minor

older choke cables have the knob removable.. look underneath the knob for a very small screw. This screw goes into the brass end of the cable and when the knob is removed the nut on the front of he dash can be undone and the cable assembly comes out from the back.

How do you replace the clutch on a 1969 morris minor?

remove the battery lead. remove the drive shaft at the diff flange and remove it from the gear box. undo engine mounts/ cross member at rear of gear box if necessary. undo bell housing bolts around rear of engine. remove gear lever if stick shift . If not remove linkages at gear box Pull gearbox rear wards and lower to the ground . A point of interest here is that when a clutch sudders it is advisable to firstly check all the engine mounts are not soft as this affects the clutch operation especially if you have a cable operated clutch

How to fit a morris minor distributer

Hi The distributer should have an offset drive so it can only go back in the same way it came out,
As to no spark:
Check the contact points
Condenser
Tiny earth wire from breaker plate to distributer body.
Coil
Ignition supply and ballast resister.

Morris cars originally had a positive earth system on the battery if you change to negative earth you must check the coil connection the Neg - terminal on the coil goes to the distributer and the Pos+
is ignition supply

Insulator on coil lead melted on morris oxford 1969

Hi sounds like you have a bad earth issue or faulty or wrong coil Morris usually run a Ballast resistor in the ignition to coil as the standard coil is about 9 volts, if you have rewired with normal wire you will have 12 volts at the coil overheating it
Must have good clean earthing between :
Body, Engine and chassis
Also check terminals under the fuse box for corrosion

Need advanced timing degree for 1969 cutlass 350 rocket could it be between 8-10 deg

1969 ,points and distributor ,,,, then unleaded petrol 95 i would set it to 6º at idle ,now as this vehicle was designed to run on leaded fuel with a higher compression than that used on modern cars you could use a lead substitute and set timing to 10º on idle ,now iam not sure if this vehicle had stellite coated valve seats and valves and only a dealer might know ,now if it hasnt got stellite valves and seats then you must use the lead substitute or the valves will burn out ,but if the negine does have stellite valves and seats then it will run quite happily on the unleaded fuel with the timing retarded a bit ,i mean i bet its a 4 litre or something so a slight loss of power will not be noticeable ,but a 998cc morris minor its quite a difference
