Question about Televison & Video

2 Answers

Every time I go to use the VCR , the blue screen comes up with the message VCR Lock Activated. This negates any further use of the VCR until I deactivate the VCR Lock. I'm sure the manual covers this problem but unfortunately I can't find the manual. Do you have a solution? Is there a switch or a proceedure to follow to deactivate the lock.

VHS tv says DEW lower left hand side, how can I fix this problem???

If the message comes out of your VHS tape recorder, means that humidity is present near the upper drum cylinder. That will stop the VCR from further actions because of danger to lock the tape on the head's surface. The proper actions are to blow inside hot air maybe from a hair dryer or remove cover and place the vcr on a sunny area for 30 minutes. If the error message continues then there;s nothing for you to do .Must take it to a nearest service because a faulty sensor or even a connector is displaced and needs a service person to act further on this.

Turn the VCR on and remove any tape. Press the record button and the VHS/TV button simultaneously. You should see a message saying the VCR is unlocked. It worked for me.

I Am Having Trouble Tuning My Channels On My VCR.

Hey is the VCR set for cable? even if it's not a local channel
could try to come in. turn the blue screen off on the VCR that
might solve your problem. If the channel is weak the blue screen will come on and block it. you can turn it off by going into
your VCR settings. Also If the cable is weak a splitter will
cause this you might have to hook the cable up directly to the
VCR to record it and watch it through the VCR. that's was may
problem once.
also you can tune channel 12 to your VCR manually if it is too
weak because of a nearby local channel it won't tune in automatically.

Generally, if you aim the remote at the VCR with the STOP button pressed, for around 10 seconds, the VCR gets 'unlocked'. Try it.
