Hey there you want to use vista?? lol good luck. You need a min of 2 gigs ram to run vista but should ideally have 4 gigs for good operation. vista is a memory hog. You can change the configuration to use less but still need at least 2 gigs

It depends upon the version of windows vista that your using. If your just using windows vista home basic or home premium, 1 gb of ram is enough. But if your using the windows vista ultimate version, 1 gb is surely not enough. I suggest that you upgrade your ram t

I want to add more RAM. Is it possible?? Worth it??

It Depends On How much ram you are running now. More ram is Always A good Thing.
However, The Amount of Installable Ram Depends On the Operating System you are running.

Windows XP, Vista, and 7 32 bit (x86) systems only except up to 4 gigs of ram. (Sometimes 3 1/2)
Windows XP, Vista, and 7 64 bit (x64) Systems will except up to 16 gigs of ram. (Some Beyond that)
If you are Unsure which System you are running,
1. Click on the Start Menu
2.Right Click on my Computer
3.Doube Left Click on Properties

On the Main Properties Page it should display
1. Which operating System you are running and Which bit it is (eiter 32 or 64)
2. How Much Memory (RAM) you are currently Running
3 and What Proccessor is Installed in your computer

I get the same message on Vista with Photodeluxe 'not enough RAM'

vista EATS RAM (500MB, nice light snack! 1 or 2 gigs, eats a good chunk but you should be able to work with non ram intensive applications) open the program then open task manager (ctrl, alt, delete, click on task manager) and check to see if memory is fully in use, if it is check to make sure that swap or page file is not fully in use.

COMP SLOW ALL THE SUDDEN!

I am no expert at vista yet but I can tell you that 2 gigs of RAM is not enough. You can disale some features in Vista, but it is a memory hog and you should probably be running about 4 gigs Ram.

What is the best vga card for celeron E1200 @1.60GHz

How much memory can you allot for the video, check in BIOS and assign the Max possible. I don't think any extra graphic card is needed since nvidia nforce hraphics supports VGA memory to about 256-512 MB, which is enough for good display considering you have 4 GB RAM installed.....sodeep

Ram on the HP 530

Yes a 512 or RAM can run a Vista system but it will be much slower so if you want to be able to use the Vista systme to the fulless better if you upgrade the RAM of your computer to atleast 1 GIG of RAM but 2GIG will be much better so Vista will work smoothly....

4gigs ram

Switch sticks around in various combinations (2 gig in slot one, 1 gig in slot two, switch, try other stick, etc) and see if it is the memory or the motherboard.

I have a wireless modem for my desktop computer but sometimes it shuts off if i am running too many programs, i had already called sprint because thats what the card is. and i am using windows vista.

I agree with d_coueslant, as you are running vista you need a bucket load of ram,and as windows only see's around 3.5 gig, if your luck, (unless your running a 64 bit o/s )more ram may solve the problem,

you could try removing any programs that start at boot time to release some ram,
or increase your virtual memory if you have enough spare hard drive space.
if i can help any further please ask

good luck

More ram for my laptop

Never, NEVER buy a computer that is going to run Vista with less than 1Gig minimum!
2 Gigs of RAM is recommended for Vista.
To check on prices and the type check some online sites that sell memory

Most laptops have a removable door or hatch on the bottom where you can access the memory very easily. The modules easily clip in or out but never use force! (RTFM)
If you take it to someone, they'd probably charge $50 for labour, plus parts and the job takes 5 minutes.

Easily do it yourself, or find a teenager who's good with computers. Son, nephew, neighbour perhaps?

Before buying any new modules, check your laptop to see how many slots you have and what type of modules are in there now.
To upgrade to 2 Gig,  you will have to buy 2 new 1Gig modules, There's a 2Gig kit (1Gigx2) listed at one site for $80.

You would remove you current memory and install the 2 new 1Gig modules. Sell your 512 or make a keychain from it.
