Not turning

Un plug the dryer and take the top off via the screws at the back.
Is the belt still round the drum?
If not belt needs replacing and the drum needs checking

If the belt is still in tact, then the capacitor may need replacing.which helps to start the drum. to test this replace the top and turn the dryer on is there a hum?
You will need an approved engineer to carry out more tests or repair

Replacing belt, can't seem to get belt tight. Need to know how to wrap belt around pulleys.

You can find the belt routing for your Maytag here:
http://www.repair-help.com/kb/index.php?article=105
If it won't tension, perhaps you have the wrong belt. The correct belt can be purchased from your local source or this website.

For those of you with other Brands of dryers start here:
http://www.repair-help.com/kb/index.php?category=13

Note: After unplugging dryer; The belts for most regular dryers are accessed by removing the front panel.

Wash and Dry and put the clothes line away!

Amana dryer Model leb107w2

It sounds like it needs a new belt. The smell is probably the rubber belt overheating because it's slipping. The belt tensioner may need adjusting or replacing as well.

Replace dryer belt

Pull the front panel off, remove the top screws and tilt top back. Rout the new belt around drum at the old wear spot with the grooved side against the drum. Next remove the back access door and rout the belt around the idler pulley and motor pulley. There is only one way to do this and get proper tension on the belt.
Also, when you order the belt, ask if it has a belt routing diagram on the belt package.
