Machine won't pick up thread from the bobbin

First my sewing machine wouldn't make a zigzag stitch now machine won't pick up thread from the bobbin , I changed the needle the last time I used the machine and wasn't having any problems with it before .
Could the needle be the problem ?
Thanks Janie

I am thinking that you've threaded the bobbin backwards or have it in upside down. Does the needle drop down below to get the thread?

Why is my White 1866 dropping stitches not picking up the bobbin thread when I am doing zigzag stitches?

Be sure you are using a brand new needle that is compatible with the thread and fabric you are sewing. Otherwise, your machine is most likely a bit out of time. Search for sewing machine timing or take it for service.

Bobbin thread is pulled through fabric on zigzag stitch

You need to adjust the tension of the stitching, it sounds as if the top stitch tension is looser than the lower in the bobbin.

Top thread bunches

try changing the needle--use a needle according to the fabric
being sewed
if thin fabric is being sewed try using a stablizer
rethread the machine top and bobbin--use every thread guide
make sure the bobbin is inserted correctly and turned correctly
in the bobbin case
also try adjusting the top thread tension just a little

Singer stylist 7258, will only pick up bobbin on one side when doing zigzag stitch

try using a washable stablizer or interfacing.
if that doesn't help then it's possible that a gear or cam may be worn enough to cause the machine zig zag not to work properly

Bernina activa 210 won't zigzag and has bobbin issues on straight stitch

it's very possible that the machine is slightly out of time & needs to be service at a sewing machine shop
is the fabric & thread & needle compatable with each other?
did you use every thread guide when threading the machine?
is the bobbin in correctly?
is the bobbin warped?

The bobbin case keeps getting pulled out of its slot as thread is caught on a part as it attempts to pick p bobbin thread

Did you floss the bobbin holder to make sure you don't have any bits of thread, you put the bobbin case back in correctly, have been changing the needles frequently and according to type of fabric just like regular sewing and have been using the lint brush and drops of oil like the manual illustrates?Detach the embroidery unit to use the sewing side to get the situation corrected, it's much easier on that side. Then when you have that situation corrected, run a zigzag test stitch with the thread and bobbin fil until you have a perfect zigzag going on your sample fabric sandwich--adjust the tension and you should have it.

My old Singer sewing machine won't pick up the bobbin thread. It is threaded properly and goes down to pick up the bobbin thread, but comes up with no bobbin thread. What to do please?

Hi, try re-timing the machine. Select "straight stitch," then take the bottom off the machine to see underneath the bobbin case area. Open the faceplate and look for two marks on the needle bar around where it enters the machine. Take out the bobbin case to see the hook. Turn the balance wheel toward you so the needle is going down. Stop turning when the needle is just about to start on its way up. The bottom mark on the needle bar should be just about to enter the machine, and the point of the hook should be just above the eye of the needle. If it isn't, tilt the machine backward and loosen the two screws on the vertical gear so you can move the hook to where it should be. Tighten the screws and put everything back so you can test your setup. If it sews a straight stitch correctly, try it on zigzag wide stitch. If it misses one side, repeat the timing process.

Machine will not zigzag

Depends on what kind of machine you have. Most of the time incorrect threading is the problem. The needle may be not be tightened in properly, or you may not have selected the correct sequence for zig-zag. Hope this helped a little.
