I have a 1965 mercury comet with a 289 v8. I want to know what type of differential I have in it so I can buy a new cover for it

Here are the spec's for the 1965 mercury comet, 289 V8:

For 1965, the Comet Cyclone was powered by the 289-cu.in. V-8 with 225hp, the same engine that was put into Mustangs. And for more power, there was a special high-performance package, better known as "Hi-Po," available with the Cyclone, and it shared the 271hp V-8 which, when installed in a Mustang, was known as the "K" code car. In the Comet, the engine code is "A." When equipped with the Hi-Po package, a 1965 Cyclone came standard with: 289 four-barrel high-performance engine, four-speed Toploader transmission, nine-inch differential, performance suspension, quick-ratio steering and 8,000-rpm Rotunda tachometer. However, the following items were extra-cost mandatory options with the 271hp engine package: four-speed transmission, heavy-duty front suspension, low-profile rayon tires and 42-amp alternator, according to 1965 sales information.

Its a 9-inch differential at best. Try this link for more data:

Is 289 nembers long distance?

Are you asking about the 289 area code in Ontario, Canada? Or in some other country?

If you are asking about Ontario, it depends on where you're calling from. If you're calling from 289, 365, or 905 then you need ten-digit dialing but it shouldn't be a long-distance call. If you're calling from outside the area code then it will be a long-distance call.

Does 1966 mustang 289 have self adjusting valves?

If it's a "K" code hi-po 289, then it has solid lifters and the valve clearance is adjustable. If a standard 289, then it has hydraulic lifters which are zero clearance and self adjusting, i.e. there is no adjusting screw on the rocker arm.

I am only getting error code 020100

  • This error code says that your DSI is not able to connect to the internet.
  • Move within 30 feet of your modem and make sure no phones or radios are interfering with your modem.
  • Also DSI will have trouble getting on the bet if you are on a hot spot because when other PC's drawing from the modem can effect the DSI's ability to connect to the modem.
  • Most of the time just moving closer and making sure no walls separate you and the modem fixes the problem.

Error code 651

Error code 651
This error corresponds to an error in a modem or any other connecting device
Try the folloging the instructions below:
If this is a dial-up connection, and you are using a supported external modem, turn off and then restart the modem. Close and restart Network and Dial-up Connections, and then redial. If the problem persists, try connecting at a lower initial speed. See To change the maximum modem port speed. Make sure you correctly configured your modem for remote access. To check your configuration, see To configure a connection. If this is a virtual private network (VPN) connection, you might have specified an incorrect TCP/IP address in the connection configuration, or the server that you are trying to reach might not be available. To determine if the server is available, see your system administrator.

I would like to know about an engine number they say it is number C5AE6016 (5B11W)its in a 65 F/B date 13T engine code A unit no. 157042 was there a 6016 block???

Yes. It had larger main caps than the typical 289 block. However there are variations on the theme and you could see a smallblock with a 6016 that predates the 289 alltogether (260 or smaller) as well as into the 70s even on a 351 windsor! Hopefully you have a hipo 289 bottom end with the larger caps and thats all you need to know.

  • If you are using only one modem or router, something on your network or from your Internet Service Provider is blocking the connection. You may need to contact your service provider for more information.
  • If you do not have the ability to connect from another location (such as a friend's house), please call 1-800-255-3700 so that we may discuss available options.
