I'm not sure about that specific saw. Most I have seen are 40/1. Check the gas cap, it may be stamped on it.

My "XXV Automatic" on the label next to the on-off toggle switch says a half pint of oil to a gallon of gas which works out to a 16 to 1 gas oil ratio. It would not surprise me if this saw has sleeve crank bearings instead of needles, which is the only reason I might guess for such a ratio. Your saw might not be the same as mine as I gather that there might be several XXV models.

Have a poulan wild thing and the oil bar compartment has gas in it

I would drain the oil and gas or whatever is in it. I would also drain the 2 cycle mix from the gas tank and start with a fresh gas and oil mix and fresh bar oil. The mix for the Poulan Wildthing is a 40:1 mix.

You are definitely going to smell gas when using any chain saw.

We need a manual to help replace the fuel line on a Poulan Deluxe Super 25

You do not need a manual; exactly like the video that follows:
http://www.fixya.com/support/r3706813-2_cycle_fuel_system_repair
No primer or second carburetor connection. Be kind to the oil pump; they are no longer available.

All fuel components are on the "Ignition, Electrical & Flywheel" print here (filter and hose are available):

Fuel mix ratio for poulan counter vibe 3400 chain saw and for a homelite st-145 weed trimmer

Oil Mix Ratio: (last 5-10 years)
Dolmar, Echo, Efco, Homelite, Husqvarna, Jonsered, Makita, Oleo-Mac, Red Max, Ryobi, Shindaiwa, Solo, Spear & Jackson, Stihl & Tanaka; all recommend 50:1.
1 gallon of premium fuel to 2.6 ounces of quality 2-cycle oil.
4 liters of premium fuel to 80 milliliters of quality 2-cycle oil.
McCulloch, Poulan & Wen; recommend 40:1.
1 gallon of premium fuel to 3.2 ounces of quality 2-cycle oil.
4 liters of premium fuel to 100 milliliters of quality 2-cycle oil.
Chinese chainsaws recommend 25:1.

If me I would have the Poulan tweaked to run properly on 50:1 and use that in both. It will start easier and take much longer to carbon foul.

If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. HTH & Good Luck.

Poulan 2300 Firewood chain doesn't oil

She is long of tooth. Some oiler parts are NLA. Item 17 on the "Power Unit" print is the actual oil pump. Do not mistreat it; do not blow it out with air; they are no longer available.

I have a poulan micro s25d 33ccm super xxv deluxe model chainsaw and am wondering how much slack should be in a brand new chain that I just put on and have used once?

As to the proper amount of slack in the chain, new or otherwise, is you should only be able to left the chain from the center of the top bar, so that you can only see the drive tooth of one (1) of the links.

Now with a new chain, the trick is to check the slack after the first tank of gas has been consumed, as new chains tend to "relax/stretch" after being put into service.

But with that being said, I always check the chain at each fueling and filling of the bar lube tank too. Better to be safe and get the maximum performance from your chainsaw, and there is no better way than to keep everything in proper working order.

A good rule of thumb is to:
  1. check and readjust/tighten the bar/chain after the fuel tank runs out of gas/oil mix. (wait for the chain/bar to cool before grabbing it with your bare hands!)
  2. Refill the bar/chain oil
  3. Refuel the chainsaw with the proper gas/oil mix, (typically 40:1)
  4. I always add fuel stabilizer to my fuel tank after I'm done using it for the day (who knows when you'll use it again!)
  5. Take a hand file and give the cutting chain a quick "touch up" sharpening before putting it away.
If you follow these steps, you'll always have a working chainsaw, ready and sharp enough to cut when you need it, without any surprizes, etc.

I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Need to know gas oil ratio on poulan micro xxv deluxe

Fuel/Oil Mixture
  1. Use a quality 2 cycle oil and mix it to the OIL supplier's recommended ratio. Today I use Stihl 2 cycle oil mixed @ 50:1 in a Pioneer that I purchased new in 1980. There are no gouges or scratches on the piston or cylinder and I have no carbon build up on the piston top. The manual (on stone tablets) recommends 24:1. Over the years the mixture has leaned from 24:1 (Saw Recommendation) to 28:1 (Lawn boy mower recommendation) to 32:1 (Oil provider 8oz/2gal - used for many years) and finally the last 5 (±) years 50:1 (Stihl 2.6oz/1gal)
  2. Any fuel containing ethanol is not good with chainsaws. Mix what you expect to use within a few months. Anything over 6 months old use up in a 4 cycle engine. HTH
