Question about Ryobi 30 Cubic Centimeter Curved Shaft Gas Trimmer

Open Question

The pull line does not engage

I have take the BC30 apart, but can't get the start assembly separated from the engine to get inside to see why it's not engaging. It seems like the connector to the shaft is holding the two together, but I don't what to force it unless I know that's what needs to come off to get into the pulley and clutch.

Thank you. I was able to get the drum and connector off. I found that the springs on the rotor pawl assembly are broken. Looks like the only way to fix is buy a new assembly. Now I just need to figure out how to take it off.

SOURCE: ryobi BC30 trimmer - pull cord not engaging to turn over engine

The "pully" that you are refering to is called the recoil. There are a couple of simple reasons why this won't catch on the flywheel and if you try to fix it your self it will most likely fly apart and scare the living daylights out of you. Either order a new recoil unit off of Ebay or from a reputable dealer and save yourself the headache.

I replaced drive belt on troybilt mustang rzt shortly after electric pto clutch stopped engaging

Moist likely you failed to reinstall PTO clutch correctly as it sound the anti-rotation device wasn't installed. When you started the engine it would spun pulling the wiring apart. Hopefully just connector came part; otherwise, you might need to purchase a new PTO clutch assembly.

Starter spins and doesnt engage

The starters solenoid is getting stuck and not extending all the way out to engage the flywheel when the engine is warm. You can try removing the solenoid assembly, taking it apart and thoroughly cleaning out the solenoid mechanism to see if removing the caked on junk does the trick. If not, then you need a new solenoid assembly.

The pull rope to start my bolens bl150 weed eater broke and can't get the new one too wind up

You need to pretension the spring before installing. Easier to do this before attaching the line, but there is a technique (at least for larger engines) for adjusting spring tension with the line still on. If you need I can describe it for you or tell you where on youtube I saw a guy do this. That video was for a snowblower engine, but the technique worked on my chipper. I see no reason why it would not work on a smaller two stroke, assuming there is nothing wacky about the configuration. I would think that a recoil starter for a two stroke and a four stroke should all use the same principle,.

How do you install injectors in a chevy s-10 pick-up?

Removal & Installation

Exploded view of the fuel rail and injector mounting

Take care when servicing the fuel rail assembly to prevent dirt or contaminants from entering the fuel system. ALL openings in the fuel lines and passages should be capped or plugged while disconnected.
  1. Before disassembly, clean the fuel rail assembly with a spray type cleaner such as AC Delco® X-30A, or equivalent. After removal, DO NOT immerse the fuel rail in liquid solvent.
  2. Properly relieve the fuel system pressure and disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the air intake duct, as necessary for access.
  4. Tag and disengage the fuel injector electrical connectors.
  5. Disengage the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line, then tag and disengage all other necessary vacuum hoses.
  6. Loosen and remove the fuel rail retaining bolts.
  7. If necessary to remove the fuel rail assembly completely from the engine compartment, or to prevent stressing and damaging the fuel lines, disconnect the fuel lines from the rail assembly.
  8. Carefully lift the fuel rail assembly and fuel injectors from the intake.
  9. Carefully release and separate the fuel injectors from the rail assembly.
  10. Remove and discard ALL old O-rings from the fuel injectors and, if disconnected, the fuel lines.
To install:
  1. Lightly coat the new O-rings with clean engine oil, then position them to the injectors and, if applicable, fuel fittings.
  2. Install the injectors to the fuel rail assembly.
  3. Carefully install the fuel rail and injectors to the intake manifold. Make sure the injectors are properly seated in their bores, but DO NOT force them into position.
  4. Install and tighten the rail retaining bolts to 62 inch lbs. (7 Nm).
  5. If removed, connect the fuel lines to the rail assembly and secure the fittings.
  6. Engage the fuel pressure regulator and any other vacuum lines, as noted during removal.
  7. Engage the injector electrical connectors.
  8. Connect the negative battery cable and cycle the ignition switch (without attempting to start the engine) in order to pressurize the fuel system, then check for leaks.
  9. Install the air intake duct.

Air impact tool does not engage but will eventually engage after switching directions.

Although I do not have a Craftsman, I have taken severl othe brands apart. They all seem to be much the same. You do not need specialized tool. You just have to be mechanically savey. I think the grease has thickened up too much so taking it apart and cleaning it should do the trick. Start at the working end end and separate the front end. Work on a clean bench where little items (screws, ball bearings etc) won't roll off and get lost. When the two parts are separated, you should see the hammer mechanizm and a lot of grease. remove and clean everything that you can. Re-lube the mechanizm with a light lube grease and re-assemble. Turn the socket drive by hand to make sure everything is free, then apply a liberal application of air tool oil to the air port of the gun and attach an air line and give it a try . Put a load on the socket to check for impact functioning properly. I hope this helps

The gear on the 4 wheel drive actuator and possibly the hub is stripped.
Remove wheel and brakes and take the four 18mm bolts out of the back and remove the cap on the end of the hub and take off a 12 mm nut. It should then come apart so you can see whats going on.

Difficult to know from here, check all the screws see if there was a required strenght on some of the screws. You should take it apart and assemble again.
