There is no bios banner ID and a bios based popup dialog requesting "CURRENT Password" fails since the password is unknown. Tried disconnecting and reconnecting cell battery.

  • rcooper510 Jun 27, 2009

There is no parallel port on this model and the F12 is unavalable until a pre-boot password is entered. There are no boot resources available until password is entered.

  • rcooper510 Jun 27, 2009

Well I didn't see the clear tape to remove, only white s/n labels. There was a suspicious B500 silkscreen with solder contacts labeled xxx.

Ok try this then you can try the program or try to make the loopack just make a wire from pin to pin in the end of the connector.
this doesn't work, you can try to build the Toshiba Parallel loopback.
To make a simple device that you connect to your parallel port, a lot
of Toshiba computers remove the password when you boot it up. The
device, named "loopback" by some, could be made out of any parallell
wire with 25pins connectors (db25). You should connect these pins:
    1-5-10, 2-11, 3-17, 4-12, 6-16, 7-13, 8-14, 9-15, 18-25

OK then we have to try to rest the RTC IC
    1)Remove Laptop Battery

2)Take off Memory Cover(underneath - square cover, Sits

in middle of laptop 1 retaining screw

3)Using two thumbs spread spring clips to outside and

    pull out RAM memory.

4)Remove clear vinyl label opposite RAM memory slots in

upper left corner( laptop battery slot is on right, DVD

drive is facing away from you)

5)Using a magnifying glass (unless you have perfect

vision)in the upper left corner you will see JOPEN1 with

a white silkscreen square next to it . Inside the square

you will see what looks like the letter T over a U.

Using a metal paper clip short the U to the Silver 1/4"

post connecting the motherboard to the laptop case(this

is you ground, it is located above what looks like a

    silkscreen outline of a chip)hold for 25 -30 seconds.

    6) Place back your RAM memory, put in the laptop battery

and test start laptop. you should see a selection of F1

or F2 for setup. Using the F2 gets you into the Bios

menu where you reset the time and date. Then Tab over to

the SECURITY setting tab and change your passwords. Now

hit F10 key ,yes to save and your done!

Note: if your having trouble your most likely grounding

the ground(that blob of solder about 1/8"dia on both

ends of the "silkscreen chip outline" This is about as simple as i can break it down

    check this out

  • seth veloso Jun 27, 2009

if that doesn't work, you will have to tale it to an authorized dealer and tell him it won't take your password anymore

Please help my Tosiba L300 is asking for a BIOS password , i cannot access it and my recovey disc will not work

All you need to do to access the BIOS is to reset it. To reset the BIOS you would need to remove the CMOS battery and place it back, the BIOS password will be back to default and you able to access the BIOS.

NOTE: the CMOS battery is located at the back of your laptop, or it will be much better for you to call a local technician and have him do it for you.

For you to use the recovery disc, once you boot the computer press F12 then select to boot your computer to (CD\DVD drive) make sure that the disc is in the disc tray, then press enter. Your computer will automatically boot into you recovery disc.

Oh dear that's the worst thing that can happen during a bios update. the bios chip is probably now useless rendering the laptop useless. You will need a new motherboard I am afraid to say.

You may need to re-install the operating system all over again as you had tried to restore your computer using Restore Disc but failed. In these cases, you will have to try to wipe all your data and install OS once again.

Sounds like your operating system is corrupted.

You could try to fix with Malware and Spyware software (Malwarebytes and Spybot), but you probably need to reinstall the operating system (Windows XP ? Vista ?).

There is also a possibility that your memory is bad. Remove all and reinsert one module at a time to test.

Hope this helps.
