Question about Dell Inspiron 1525 Notebook

'D' key problems

My 'd' key has become unresponsive. It will respond only to pressing it on the top-left corner, and practically punching it even then. I wasn't abusive on it or anything like that, but the source of the problem isn't why I'm here. I was wondering if I would be able to reattach it if I were to pry the key off to remove the obstruction or whatever is causing the problem.

The most likely reason is probably that you may have accidently turned of and then turned the keyboard back on without enabling the "D" key to re-enable it try going to control panel > keyboard > HID Keyboard Device (in most cases) > properties > Driver. Here you have 2 options: "Update Driver" or "Uninstall" i would suggest update driver first if this doesn't work try uninstalling and then re-installing it and that should do it.... please pm me for more help =]

My touchpad is unresponsive

Step 1:
Locate the "Fn" key in the lower right or left corner of the laptop keyboard. The "Fn" key typically has different colored text on it or the key itself is a different color. Locate the function (F1 through F12) key at the top of the keyboard that disables or enables the touchpad on the laptop. The key typically has an icon that resembles a touchpad with a finger touching it or a touchpad with a diagonal line through it. Press both the "Fn" and touchpad Function key simultaneously to reactive the touchpad on your laptop. Move your finger along the touchpad to verify that it works. Press the combination at any time to disable the touchpad again.

Dell Inspiron 1121 (11Z): BIOS unresponsive

Your keyboard is not responding after entering into the bios. Do one thing, use an usb keyboard then go to bios and update the bios first. It may solve the problem. If the problem is still there then you have a faulty laptop, change it.

If the handset is locked, frozen, or unresponsive, you can perform a master reset it using the hardware keys instead of the menu. A master reset restores the original factory settings and may erase all downloaded content, including ringtones, images, programs, and contacts stored in the internal memory. It does not erase data stored on the SIM card or memory card (if available). To perform a master reset using hardware keys, follow these steps:

1. If the device is responding at all, back up your data before proceeding.

Note: The device must be turned on to synchronize or transfer files.

2. Turn off the device.

Note: If the device is unresponsive and does not turn off, remove and then reinsert the battery.

3. Press and hold the Home key and the Power key for at least 25 seconds, even if the Startup screen appears.

4. Release the keys when you see a black screen with a warning sign.

5. Press the Home key and the Power key again.

6. When the Android system recovery utility appears, use the trackball to scroll to and select Wipe data/factory reset.

7. Once the device finished the data wipe, select reboot system now.

How to exit a program that is responding

Do you mean NOT responding?
If so, hold down the command key (that's the one right next to the space bar), then hold down the ALT key (that's the key next to the command key) and while you are holding them down press the ESC key (top left hand corner of the keyboard).
A window will open up showing all the running programs. Normally the problem program will be high-lighted and will have (not responding) tagged onto the end of its name. At the bottom of the window is a button marked "Force Quit".
Alternatively you can mouse over the program's icon in the dock, click on it and hold the click for a couple of seconds. A menu will pop up with "Force Quit" in it. That's it.

Kenmore microwave - unresponsive keypad

Repaired the unresponsive keypad on my older Kenmore (model 721.68100): Unplug. Remove integral cover for top and sides which is held in place by 5 metal screws. The cover then slides toward the rear. Unplug two connectors to back of keypad and clean them (I used contact spray cleaner). Some of the components retain a charge even when unplugged.

The touchscreen has stopped responding. Everything else is OK.

Ok, i see your problem. Take a business card and wipe the corners of your screen gently. This should work as unresponsive screes occur when dust is trapped on the screen.Remember, practice this every 3 months.Good Luck :)

Key pad

A couple of things. Make sure none of your keys are stuck. One key being stuck will disable the keyboard. Carefully depress each key individually and see if one of them is responding differently.
If you want to try, and its not overly difficult, remove the keyboard and unplug and re connect every connector and ribbon cable you can find. Often one of them becomes loose or has a so so connection that can cause it not to respond.
Let me know please.
