Question about Maytag Neptune MLE19PN Front Load Stacked Washer / Dryer

1 Answer

I have a Maytag front load dryer. When you push start everything runs good except the gas won't kick on. I have vacuumed out inside between the walls and drum, removed the lint filter and shoved a plastic tube down it and vacuumed it out, removed the exhaust hose off the back and vacuumed into the dryer and cleaned the whole length of hose and went outside and checked the exhaust hole. All is clean. What is my next step

there should be a fan in the unit that blows air over the element and through the clothes
there should also be a thermostat that sets the element temp to low mild or hot according to the switch on the front

I'm guessing that your belt my have been misaligned, which means, no problem!

But, I recently had a machine that had a motor that would not turn, only hummed. I vacuumed the lint, then blew the lint out of the motor with a compressor, and vacuumed again. It still needed a push start to get the motor turning, but it starts on its own, now. So, if you have a lot of lint buildup, it can eventually stop the motor

Maytag gas dryer, model #MDG7600AWW does not turn on

a thermal fuse should read shorted until it gets hot .. the buzzing you hear might be the motor running but not turning the drum .. that would be a broken belt .. the motor is spring loaded to keep the belt tight ..the belt is long .. it goes around the drum and down to the motor ... belts are available at many appliance parts shops .. changing it is not hard for someone handy .. a bit more than you would want to handle if you are not mechanically inclined ... on some maytags the whole front of the dryer comes off with just two screws near the bottom .. that makes servicing much easier ..

When I push the start button on my maytag neptune dryer it sounds

MORE TIMES THAN NOT, WHEN I HAVE SEEN THIS PROBLEM, IT TAKES A NEW MOTOR TO CORRECT THIS SITUATION. MAKE SURE EVERYTHING MOVES FREELY BEFORE CONDEMNING THE MOTOR THOUGH.

Maytag 5806 Gas Dryer starts and suddenly stops.

You may have a problem with a thermal overload sensor. Since it runs and then shuts off, this sounds like the problem.
