Question about Infinity SW-12 Subwoofer

1 Answer

I have an infinity sw12 that is for some reason making a high pitched noise and some cracking noises as well. It does seem to work otherwise. I get the same noise when the cable to the stereo is unplugged. Tried plugging it into another outlet. What could be causing that?

It could be an internal "cold solder joint" however, if your lucky, it may just be dust buildup on the control pods and switches. Radio Shack sells "Tuner Wash" which will clean potentiometers (volume controls) and other electrical contact points. It's an inexpensive "try". Pull the volume and crossover knobs and lightly spray down with the wash. Let it set 10-15 seconds then move the control pod back and forth. Turn it back on and see if it's better. Hope this helps

Weird noises in drive and reverse

The high pitched whine in reverse sounds normal for a honda. Ever honda I have had makes a similar noise while in reverse. The spinning, scraping noise in drive is not normal. You might want to see a mechanic about that.
